The pics on the site aren't very good, so I couldn't tell exactly what this was. I bought it anyway. Turns out it's two layers of a high quality foam, with a bunch of neodymium magnets sandwiched between them. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it still works well. The magnets are definitely very strong, and the material is waterproof and seems to be oil resistant. It holds a buttload of tools and will even hold things upside down. While I can't compare it to some of the others out there (because I don't own those) I can say that I'm happy, and these do their job well. My only problem, which is why it gets 4 stars, is I wish it had a few more magnets in it.

Good gift for the garage. Hold up pretty well for being a super simple mat with round magnets in it.

The fabric used for holding the magnets together could be a little tougher. Other than that, the super strong magnets are great, hold alot of metal and parts, tools anything that is possible. Very good surface area.

I bought one of these previously from a different seller, but it was no longer available so I tried this one. The magnets barely work at all, it won't even hold a small crescent wrench. The other one I have can hold several tools and I use it regularly. This one is useless.

I need it to be larger for heavier tools.

I love the fact that this mat is flexible and has very powerful magnets in it. I plan on using it on my car so if I drop a tool or a bolt or nut, it will catch it on the mat and save ne the headach of looking down my engine for it.

I plan on using this to organize some hair pieces. Magnets are strong. So far seems like a good product.
