I would give this screen more than 5 stars if I could. The quality is top notch and it's the easiest Velcro screen I've ever had in terms of attachment, removal and use. The side part is what really makes it better than the others. The magnets in the side are the perfect strength to shut it automatically without it being too strong to push through if your hands are full. Another great feature is that the entire frame is fabric meant to stick to Velcro so you can use as much or as little Velcro on your door frame spaced however you want. The width and length are also just right to keep bugs out and it's a heavy enough material that something like a lizard isn't going to be able to get under the bottom edge. I also like the separation in the magnets that's just right for easily folding it. I can't keep a temporary screen up on my south facing front door because the sun is absolutely brutal in the summer afternoons and has destroyed previous lower quality, harder to install/remove screens. I can put this one up and remove it in literal seconds. Definitely worth the price!

So after purchasing and returning a competing product, I was dubious of the value of this unit. Unfortunately, the solid-frame screen door that came with our sliding glass door is so difficult to slide that we were desperate for an alternative, so we tried again with this product. Manufacturing/materials: The screen material itself is sturdy and tough. With 2 adults, 2 dogs, and 2 kids it gets a workout, but after 4 months so far it looks the same as when we bought it. Adhesives/installation: The package comes with a good length of quality hook & loop material, enough to install with a little (6"?) left over for mishaps. Its handy to have 2 folks to help with the install, but its not required. Magnetic seal: This unit has a series of magnets sewn into the edges of the screen flaps, and I can only recall one time that Ive had to manually adjust them. Every other time they automatically realign themselves for a nice vertical seal. Magnetism+gravity=great! I'd like it even more if the flaps had a magnetic strip at the bottom of the screen as well, but I can imagine other issues may come from that (such as the flap attaching to itself in mid-swing) so perhaps thats why it wasn't added. Design: This is where it shines the greatest. Most competing products have a central seam, which works great if you have french doors that similarly open in the middle. For those of us installing on sliding doors, a middle opening is annoying because it forces you to open the door as far as it can go, then shimmy to the door side to slip through the opening. This product has an offset opening, so opening the slider a bit is enough to expose the magnetic opening. Far smarter design for a slider. Summary: I used to hate my slider because of the garbage OEM screen door. Now we use the slider far more often, get more breeze, and enjoy the back yard more. Seriously, its been excellent and I fully endorse it. The closest I have to a point of concern is with the bottom edge of the screen, which by design can swing free. If you install the screen low enough for that bottom to brush the step then you avoid any kind of gap. Alternatively if you install it inset into the door frame then you won't have a gap as the bottom edge will sit against the frame itself. For us, it hangs free a little but we've never had any trouble from that (despite being in serious skeeter country). Disclaimer: None. At first, I wasn't sure if this was going to work. My dog couldn't get used to the side opening and kept pushing at the middle. This caused the bottom edge to come apart from the mesh. I let the company know...sent them some pictures of the failure, and they sent me a new one right away. However, I left the old one up just to see what would happen to it. Turns out, the dog got used to poking her nose at the side and the original screen has lasted the entire summer without deteriorating any further. I honestly don't understand how that is possible since there is literally nothing holding the bottom together. I would call this product well made. I like the side opening just because it looks better, and it does seem more functional that way when I tie it over to one side. There is a handy built in strap for that and allows it to be held out of the way when you don't want it hanging down. The magnetic closures are strong and really do a good job. I had a different brand last year and it didn't last the season at all. Just kind of fell apart. This one is a different story. It is showing no signs of wear other than what I already mentioned. I am going to leave it up to see what happens to it over the winter. Very good, quality product.

I had new back doors with full glass panels installed. I wanted new screen doors but the space required (and cost) were not good for me. I tried a version of this type of screen in the past. It was ok but didn't hold up very long. It also opened in the center which I didn't love. These screens open on the side. They don't show a line down my window panes and they help reduce glare from outside. The screen does keep bugs out but the one I purchased doesn't reach the ground. It stops right above the threshold. It's too hot for open doors now but I'll just get a draft stopper for cooler season. It was easy to put up. I don't know how long it will last being held in place with sticky tape but it is sealed well for now. The side opening is fine for me since I am short but I think it might be inconvenient for tall people. I was thinking that it needed a loop or handle for opening. But that's minor, I literally can just walk through it without pulling the screen open. The magnets have snapped shut every time. That's impressed me since that was a problem with the previous type I had. So, yeah, I'm happy so far. This may not be a permanent solution to a screen door, but if I replace it 10 times, it will still be less money and use less space to open than a screen door.

I bought this for our sliding glass door in the kitchen so we could leave it just wide open enough for our little 12 pound dog to go in and out and keep the bugs out in the summer. The fabric is a nice hefty weight, durable, and the magnets are perfect! They release easy enough for our little dog to get through but they SNAP right back together with a grip. The split near one side (either left or right) give the opening in the place where we want the door (it only has to be open about 8 to 10 inches in order for him to get through). Perfect for what I wanted it for. Reasonable price for the quality. Would definitely buy again. In fact I did buy another one from this same brand, also opening on the side not the middle for the front door of our house because that screen door is messed up & needs to be replaced, so this is an affordable option until we can get a new screen door out there.

Absolutely the best screen I have ever had for my shed and green house. Strong netting, strong magnets that close perfectly. I would highly recommend!

2021 "Upgrade" review: Can you guys please stop changing this product? I have three cats and live in the high desert which is sometimes extraordinarily windy, so these screens take a beating and I buy a new one once or twice a year. The first version with the weighted bottom was the best...the bottom should still be weighed down.. This new version with the "invisible" magnet line is nice to look at, but without the velcro tabs for extra support on very windy days, the magnets can't hold. This new tape for the door frame is the best so far, for sure; but luckily we happen to have 20-30mph winds the day after I put this new screen up, and I was able to see that this wouldn't work right away. Before throwing my old screen out, I ripped the two magnetic strips off and managed to attach them to the opening in the new screen in order to loop the velcro tabs through the new screen for extra support. ---bottom line: this would be the absolute perfect alternative to a door if you'd bring back the weighted bottom and velcro tabs at waist-level and at the bottom! Update: I was so excited to try this side-opening screen with the extra velcro tabs for extra windy days. It worked perfectly for a week or so, and then the extra velcro tab at the bottom ripped off upon opening it. I hardly use the extra tabs because it's too hot to have my door open right now. I may have used the bottom one 3 times/once to test it upon installation? Can't even ask for a replacement because it's not available right now. I love these screens! I live in a very windy part of the southern Idaho desert and I've never been let down! This is my 3rd one (because my cat likes to climb them-NOT because it doesn't work) and it's my first side opening one. I'm thrilled!

This is my second purchase, the first one lasted 2.5 years of heavy use in Hawaii. It finally succumbed to a few small rips in the mesh and just got very dirty because Maui volcanic dust stains permanently. I have a black screen from a different brand on the exterior of my front door and this white one is for the door in my bedroom which opens outwards, meaning the screen has to be inside. And I don't want a black screen as the focal point in my light and bright bedroom. I also love the side opening vs center opening which is better for my particular setup (there are other times when a center part is better, like my front door). Once installed you can hardly tell it's there. The velcro tape (included) held up to constant daily use and very strong trade winds; I did add a thumbtack (included) to each corner just for good measure but it would have held fine without. And there was no tape damage to the paint upon removal. I cannot recommend this highly enough and hope they continue to make it!

So easy to use and kept out the bugs! Loved the design where it opens on the side instead of down the middle.

The material is thicker, the magnets are stronger/longer, the installation is easy and it ships fast. I had a few until now, but this one is the best. Make sure to get the right size! Also the grey, I was worried about, but it actually allows more light through, therefore it looks better!
