Absolutely great!
One week ago, I bought another brand of air fryer. Everything seemed perfect about it when it arrived but the second time I used it it had an electrical shortage and was dead. I was so disappointed after doing all the research.!!! my sister and I bought the same air fryer and she ended up returning hers too afraid that it would have an electrical short like mine. When the gowise arrived, the delivery person left it on the stairs 2/3 of the way from the front door. The box and unit weighed 32 pounds. It was a challenge to roll that box up the stairs, but I was determined because I had no choice -the other air fryer was so light, I could carry it up the stairs in the box by myself. So I approached this air fryer with much trepidation I like the gowise brand. I'm actually replacing a Gowise air fryer that I really loved for three years. When I finally had the energy to unbox the air fryer and install it I felt hopeful. First it's a solid machine well-made and impressive. It comes with a generous amount of accessories. I've read reviews criticizing the beeping and it's true. There is a lot of beeping when selecting the correct time and temperature. A knob to control the digital temperature and timer would be an improvement. Other than that it's a spectacular machine. I was surprised to find that the first thing that we fell in love with was lightly toasting tortillas to eat them as chips they were so light and so perfectly toasted. It was amazing, I was able to note the time and temperature to be created again and again 360° for three minutes! We made onion rings and apple crisp pie and heated up meat pies. Everything was delicious and perfectly heated. I'm excited to discover what else I will be making , I've had an air fryer for the last four years and normally use it just for quick heat ups and fries and finishing ribs out of the oven. But I assure you that the options this model will give you will expand the things I will be able to create in the kitchen , I'm looking forward to having my cousin over for dinner for kebabs and roasted potatoes. I know it's going to be wonderful but my favorite thing to make in the air fryer is hashbrowns. I zap whole potatoes in the microwave for four minutes. Then I cut and toss them with oil and seasonings air fry them on french fry setting and it's perfect every time you have to try it!

Fantastic Machine, Colors Limited by Shipping Availability
I bought this to replace my Philips XL Air Fryer that I accidentally killed by making a terrible mistake: I put it on the stove under the hood, and bumped the burner knob. The bottom was melted and the machine had to be taken out of service. But this GoWise was everything beyond my wildest dreams! I first saw the oven style GoWise used by Lori Shaw, whom I follow because of RP Strength. She highly recommended this Air fryer and the GoWise brand. What caught my eye was that it was like an oven. With my Philips Air Fryer, I hated fiddling with the basket drawer to take food in and out. I had a hard time cleaning the parts. I felt limited by the design. With this GoWise unit, I get the convenience of the oven door. I don’t have uneven heating as indicated by another reviewer. I love that there are multiple shelves and accessories that come with this unit so I can cook more food at one time, as well as cook them more evenly with the rotisserie feature and rotating accessories. The operation is pretty easy. We use the presets sometimes, but if there are “conventional oven” directions for the frozen food we are cooking, we will adjust the presets to the recommended time and temperature. The beeping of the unit doesn’t bother me; I think the presets are great if you don’t have instructions for a food item and I like that I have a way to know I pressed the buttons properly. This unit is the perfect size for my family of four. I love that we can cook corn on the cob for all of us at once, get evenly cooked tater tots and fries, and have so many ways to cook our favorite foods. I love that the unit turns itself off and has a fan built in to dissipate the heat. I think the only thing I don’t like is the light. The light source is only on one side and only comes on when the unit is on. I can see the food okay when the light is on and the door window is clean, but when the window is dirty or I’m cooking a lot of food, the light isn’t enough to know how the food is cooking. It’s not a big deal since I tend to open the door and check / flip food when I’m not using the rotisserie feature. Another minor thing is finding space to store all the accessories. I use them all, but there are a lot of them. I put them in my electric oven which is pretty much only used for storage or large volume baking these days, anyway. The instruction manual is pretty straightforward and the unit came with a cookbook. I was saddened that I couldn’t purchase directly from the GoWise website and was directed to Amazon due to shipping. I originally wanted a white unit and it was not available to ship to me in that color from GoWise and some vendors on Amazon. I settled for black. I don’t understand why only one color is available to purchase based on where I live. Aside from the oven light, I think this aspect was the most disappointing part of my purchase experience. I love my machine enough to overlook its color; the performance is outstanding. I just can’t overlook the shipping restrictions as a limitation to my options. If you can get it to me, you should be able to get me the color I want. I was willing to pay for shipping despite being a Prime Member to get the color I want but it was not an option from GoWise directly nor some of the vendors here on Amazon.

Works great! Excited to see the other functions
The packaging was well protected and arrived with no damage. It came with all the accessories, air fryer and dehydrator cook books. I skimmed through the cook books and they seem great. Super simple, feverish ingredients and easy to follow. Definitely got some inspirations from them with my own ideas. I got this air fryer because of the rotisserie and dehydrator functions. I only used it once to reheat leftovers. Worked great with equal temperature all around and done in 5 minutes. Will give updates on the other functions Update 1/19/24- air fryer still works great. But finding some of the quirks. The beeping is obnoxiously loud. I couldn’t find a way to turn off the beeping without taking it apart ( doing this will probably void any “warranty” ) I found a video on how to take the top off and found the buzzer on a circuit board. I took electrical tape and covered the top of the buzzer. This lowered the volume to a very comfortable level. When cooking with multiple trays, the top one will cook much, much faster than the bottom tray. The tumbler is great for roasting veggies and potatoes. But it very difficult to clean. The last thing I would bring up is the dehydrator setting. You cannot change the temperature ( it stays at 130) but you can change the duration. I got this air fryer to try my hand at dehydrating. And not all my recipes have a temp of 130. You could set it manual and change the temperature but the longest duration is a hour while the process can take anywhere to 4-10 hours. Depending on what you are dehydrating. I would still give this a great rating considering the price. But this company makes a newer version of this airfryer with a second heating unit at the bottom. That probably helps to evenly heat multiple trays. If I didn’t buy this one, I probably would have got the newer one.

Versatile well-designed oven & accessories with enormous potential
My first attempt with an air fryer. I wanted something big because most of them looked like they were very small and could not handle large meals or cooking for a full week’s worth of meals. One of the first things I wanted to try was to cook (air fry) bacon. This baby will do a full pound of thick sliced bacon with ease. I used the two shallow mesh trays and then just switched them out about ½ way through. The top of the oven is definitely a hot spot so if you fill it up, you’ll need to adjust expectations to keep from burning. Don’t forget to save the grease in the bottom pan so you can fry your eggs in it later! I found that the cook times in the recipe book were no-where near where they needed to be, too low. The user’s manual has a more useful guide IMHO. Also, the recipe book has NO PAGE numbers on the pages!?!? Who thought that one up? But I suspect there are probably some very good places on-line to learn more about things to do with an air fryer… Haven’t yet had time to try out more of the functions but my first experience with the bacon was great. The mesh trays came out looking nasty from a cleaning standpoint but BOY did they clean up easy. Quick scrub with a brush & soap and toss them in the dish machine. I believe they also used some very high-quality materials on the parts. They conduct heat extremely well which means faster cooking. But they also cool down incredibly fast. I did notice that some of the burnt-on stuff in the bottom tray (pan?) did not come clean very easily at all. Even after a cycle in the dish washer. The inside of the oven, though, is a breeze to get clean. Same high-end metals that come clean with just some light soap and a paper towel. Have used it to fry 3+ lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast at once. Chop it up in pieces & marinate it in some olive oil for a few hours. About 9 min @ 400 degrees, then turn the chicken, then maybe another 6-9 min at a little lower temp. I tried several different types of bread for toasting with mixed results. It really just dries the bread out. Maybe go with a real high temp setting & shorter duration. When I looked at all the parts that came with this, I thought it was way too much stuff. And more stuff than I wanted to store. But I also wanted the frying basket so ordered the 3-piece accessory kit (basket, baking pan, & toasting rack for $30). Now that I have everything, I think it’s worth it to have so much more flexibility. All components seem to be extremely well-made materials that will conduct heat well & clean up easily. Not sure what all the fuss is on these reviews about the digital oven interface and all the buttons & numbers. It’s actually fairly simple and all the different buttons give you ease of fast flexible settings. As long as they don’t wear out, I’m perfectly happy with the interface. The entire oven itself is very light IMHO. Easily picks up & stores in a cabinet. Some mention it getting hot but even when it’s running I don’t think it puts out much heat at all. In fact one of my biggest reasons for wanting this was my regular oven puts out so much extra heat every time I cook it’s just working my a/c overtime. This little baby has definitely reduced that footprint. Lastly, I’d say aromas from this are FAR less than conventional cooking. Especially for frying chicken & bacon. Which is a HUGE plus! As soon as I’m done baking, I hit the kitchen with some air freshener and within an hour the smells are pretty much gone. Perhaps one reason I didn’t fry chicken so often was that the smell just seemed to permeate everything for days. It’s hard to tell how this device will do in the long haul but I am REALLY glad I bought this air frying oven. I’m definitely looking forward to heading to my favorite market that has a top-notch meat counter. Gonna get me some NY Strips, marinate & season them, and go to town! Hope this review has helped clarify this complex little batch of tools & this oven. Oh, and one last thing I forgot to mention. I ordered this on a Friday night, and about 2 pm on Sat it was at my door! Wow! Amazon Prime ROCKS!

6 years of Every Day, Sole Oven Source Cooking!! Absolutely Worth EVERY Penny
EDIT: We purchased another as the oven bagan breaking down after almost 8 years of everyday, heavy use. Since the 12 qt wasn't available I got the larger one and am so happy! I really like being able to choose between top and bottom heat or both!! It's made our pizza cooking 100% better. The grill plate is an amazing addition! Some have talked about how hard it is to clean the grates but we haven't had too much trouble with some bartenders friend and some elbow grease. Using the dishwasher also works great! We put foil on the drip tray and change it OFTEN, otherwise, of course it's going to smell greasy....duh. All the pieces come really clean in the dishwasher if you use a decent soap. I really hope Gowise continues to make air fryers!! For the price point, these are so versatile!! There's a learning curve, but seriously, this is my hands down favorite air fryer. I posted some scalloped potatoes I made recently and some other dishes I've made over the years.... including a creepy faced turkey pot pie😂LoL. It is really such a versatile machine and fits a surprising variety of cooking dishes! We have used this airfryer for 6 years, the last 4 as our only method of oven-type cooking since we moved to a place without a stove. This thing was an absolute BEAST. We have baked cornbread, cooked whole chickens (OFTEN) made roasts of all kinds, and toasted sandwiches, French dips...I could go on and on and on. Hands down the best machine! I'm sad they aren't available anymore because ours finally is giving up the ghost, but I'm not even mad about it because 6 years of everyday, all day cooking for less than $150 is a good deal to me. We'll see how the newer model compares. My only criticism is it would be lovely to have replacement baskets & parts.

Size Matters!
I've been looking at air fryers for quite awhile but was hesitant to buy one due to limited size and capacity on the amount of food you can cook at once. So, I was happy to find a larger capacity unit that I also discovered will fit on my counter top. My first use was to cook a dozen large drumsticks. They fit very well on the trays and I was actually able to fit the entire dozen for one cooking session. They really turned out very well. I've never had drumsticks turn out so well in a regular oven or on the outdoor grill. They were beautifully browned and thoroughly cooked through, but still very moist inside. Please note the picture of the drumsticks is taken on a serving tray. The trays used in the oven, are the mesh trays that let the air circulate around them. I was able to fit 6 of the drumsticks on each cooking tray, which then slide right into the unit in their own cooking slot, just like a regular oven. The next use I made large breaded chicken cutlets.. They also fit nicely on the trays even though they were quite large cutlets. They also turned out nicely; perfectly browned and even though I didn't use one of the handy preset programs, it was easy to figure out a manual setting that worked for cooking the chicken thoroughly. I'm very pleased that I can fit the unit on my counter. I thought I was going to have to store it and bring it out each time for use, but it fits great on a corner of my counter and I just pull it out for use to give it the space it needs for venting. I am also very happy with the cleanup and ease of use for all the extra tools that it comes with. Last night I made air fried sweet potatoes and they turned out perfectly! The cooking basket was easy to attach and easy to remove when the fries were done. They are absolutely the best sweet potato fries I've made or had at a restaurant (it is nice to be able to add all your favorite spices, so I think homemade are the best anyway)! I'm looking forward to try the kabob attachments and really excited to try the dehydrator setting. I don't eat red meat but love jerky. It is difficult to find fish, turkey or chicken jerky that is good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The fact that my new air fryer has this option for cooking, is just a huge added bonus. So, if you like to be able to make bigger portions in one cooking session, have ease of clean up, storage and get rotisserie and dehydrating options too, this is the one for you!

Mixed Reviews Are Warranted
The first thing I did after running the initial 5 minute "burn off" (the smell wasn't bad) was make fries and onion rings in the rotisserie basket. It was fun to watch. I think it would work better if tit didn't need the rod. I used the preset cook time. The onion rings were perfect, the fries were overcooked and partially burned. It created a ton of smoke. This unit does create a lot of heat. I could see food in a pantry above it cooking or melting. Then I went to clean the basket. It was disgusting. Grease dried all over, stuck in the mesh and all the corners. This will be IMPOSSIBLE to clean (I have it soaking in hot soapy water, but I can't even get it completely submerged it is so big). I may never get any more use out of it. Even the rod took a lot of scrubbing to clean. The reviews that mention this are spot on. I wasn't expecting much, but I thought I'd at least get more than one use out of it. I am now dehydrating some bananas and apple slices. The machine is making a g*d awful noise. I don't know if this is normal or not. I will update the review as I continue to use it. Update: The apple and banana slices created more smoke and a horrible smell like a fast food joint grease trap. It permeated my house. That was Saturday, today is Tuesday and the whole place still reeks. I've still not been able to get the basket clean. ** I contacted GoWise customer service and they were no help at all. ** Be aware that you will need to decide right away if you want to keep this machine. If you do and if something happens past the Amazon return window, you will be out of luck because they ** do not honor their warranty**. They wanted video of the machine making the rattling noise. Really??? You need a video? That's insane. The basket they asked me for pictures of. That I sent and they responded that I should soak it (which I told them I had) and that it was not a warranty issue. I was also told that what I described as the smokey permeating odor they called an "odd smell" and that an "odd smell" is also not a warranty issue. At this point, I am 99% sure this is going back to Amazon. Reduced to one star.

Good Oven but...
My purchase and use of this oven has been an interesting (and not always enjoyable) drama and I now completely rewrite this review to reflect the history. First, let me start by talking about what I like about the oven... I like the overall operation. The control panel is easy to use and the oven works well. It cooks quite well, though cooking with it will take a bit of getting used to since things tend to cook faster by convection than by conventional means. As such, adjusting temperatures and times becomes necessary. Now, what problems did I have? It all started when I was trying to use the cylindrical rotisserie basket in which one can tumble various items for even cooking. I was using it to cook frozen jalapeno poppers. I took the contents of the eight-ounce package and put it into the basket and set it to doing its job. Four times in the fifteen minutes of cooking, the front door popped open. Each time it did so, the oven lost heat, the rotisserie motor stopped spinning, and the proper cooking of the food was interrupted. If I happened to notice it, it was no big deal as I was able to correct the problem right away. However, three of the four times, I didn't notice right away and the only way I knew what was going on was that I noticed the fan stopped but that the timer had not yet beeped for the conclusion of the cooking. The rotisserie is supposed to be able to handle up to five pounds, so opening due to the vibration of one-tenth of that amount moving around in the basket is definitely not a good thing! I contacted the manufacturer (a company called Ming's Mark markets the brand name GoWise USA) to ask what could be done to fix the problem. After a few email exchanges, what Marisol decided to do was generate a prepaid UPS return label so that I could send back the unit for a refund minus a 15-percent restocking fee. Considering that I had the unit for less than a week at that point, I found that completely unacceptable and let her know. I then also made a point that the company was in violation of state "Buyer's Remorse" law as well as the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act and that if I returned the unit, it would be for a full refund. At that point, the case was handed over to another gal by the name of Marilyn and she started trying to smooth things over. She actually listened to my problems with the unit and my complaints about how the situation was handled and worked with me to come up with a resolution that I would find satisfactory. Considering that the issue was that the latch for the oven door was too weak to keep it closed reliably, we agreed that an exchange of the unit would be necessary. Given the fact that I entertain a lot and had plans to use this oven over the next week or so, she agreed to an advance exchange: she would send out the replacement oven before I sent back the defective unit. (You might ask how I used the bad unit if the door wouldn't stay closed. Simple: I taped it shut. A couple small pieces of gaffer's tape stuck to the sides of the oven door and to the sides of the oven body kept the door closed successfully.) The return of the bad unit was prepaid by the label that Marisol had previously generated. A few days later, the replacement oven arrived. Before I packed up the bad unit and sent it off, I compared the latches and could tell right away that the latch in the new unit was much stronger than the one in the unit I originally received. This should easily keep the door closed under greater amounts of vibration, though I haven't yet had the opportunity to try it out. Originally, I rated this down to a 1-star review because of the door problem and the lack of support provided by Marisol. However, at this point, I raise my review to a 3-star score. I still knock off a couple of stars because I never should have had to go through such hassle in trying to get some assistance with their unit and receiving cooperation only after threatening considering my legal options and contacting my retained legal firm. The oven appears to work well for everything that it is supposed to do. My suggestion for those who have problems with it not cooking properly is to make sure that they are using it appropriately: (1) This oven requires that the air be able to circulate from bottom to top (the fan at the top blows the air out), so that means that anything put on the oven racks must be properly spaced so as to allow the passage of air. (2) Anything put into the tumbling rotisserie basket should be put in loosely enough to allow the contents (such as French fries) to topple easily. (The manual recommends filling the basket not more than half-full so as to allow proper tumbling action.) (3) If the rotisserie has quit turning, make sure that the door is closed. It will not turn while the door is ajar. The easy way to address this is by pushing slightly on the door until it clicks shut. The top of the door handle should be even with the bottom of the control panel. (4) Be aware that the oven does not turn off right away. Once the timer has expired, the rotisserie quits spinning (if it was being used), the oven light turns off, and the display turns to all zeroes. This lets you know that it is done cooking. The fan still operates so as to help evacuate the heat to make removal of the food easier, more comfortable, and safer. (We are talking about a small oven and therefore the potential to get burned is higher than in a full-size range oven.) (5) Also, be aware that a few seconds after the display has turned to all zeroes, the oven will beep again and turn off the display but the fan will still be blowing. This is to help dissipate the heat from the heating element and will continue for about 20-30 seconds. At that point, the fan will shut off and the oven will be dormant until the owner wishes to use it again. This is standard operation, not a malfunction. (6) Those who have complained about problems with the control panel, its use is pretty simple. The Menu button steps through each of the various settings (Manual, Fries, Frozen Foods, Wings, Pizza, etc.) with each keypress. Yes, if you accidentally press the button again and step past the option you want, you have to go around again. Some may find it annoying but it is best to be annoyed with oneself, not the machine. Besides, it takes less than five seconds to correct the user's error and return to the desired option. (7) As for the buttons being hard to press, I haven't found that to be the case with either unit, so if there is an issue with the buttons, I suggest getting in touch with Marilyn and seeing what she can do. She might send out an exchange. What I would suggest doing first, though, is making sure that any protective shipping plastic that came on the control panel has been removed. Many "glossy" control panels have clear plastic clung to them during manufacturing to keep fingerprints and other marks off the control panels while they are being moved around in the factory so as to keep the appearance as pristine as possible until it reaches the customer. That plastic is supposed to be removed before operation. This is true for this oven, televisions, computers, printers, and everything else that uses it. Just get rid of it. It interferes with the ability of the control panel to sense the user's keypresses and can easily lead to complaints of difficult operation. (A perfect case in point is a large number of complaints about a new microwave oven I purchased last Fall. People left that plastic on and complained that they couldn't set the timer easily. Removing the plastic corrected the issue.) (8) Oh, one more thing: some users have complained that they have to press Power to turn the unit on, select their desired function by pressing Menu (and modifying the default temperature and/or time with the Temperature and Time buttons), and then having to press Power again to get the oven to start. First of all, this sequence is explained in the user manual, so if it was hard to figure out, I suggest they didn't follow the old advice of RTFM: Read the Fine Manual! As for having to "press so many buttons," this is the way this oven works. If you want something that works differently, find a different model of oven that doesn't have as much versatility. Then again, a microwave might be a good option for you. Oh wait, that involves buttons as well... (9) Finally, for those who say that the user manual is too short and not very detailed, first, congratulations for reading the manual. However, be aware that the manual gives as much detail as is needed to use this oven. It isn't rocket science. If you want to heat up a frozen food, select the Frozen Foods option and let the oven do its thing. The manual doesn't need to explain each and every Menu option and how it differs. After all, those options are there for convenience by having certain temperatures and times set by default. The user could never use anything other than the first option--Manual--and always set his own time and temperature, selecting the Rotisserie when that function is desired--and use the oven just as if he had used the other options. It would not make any difference to the food or oven. Consider it like the microwave. Some microwaves have "quick use" functions such as +30 Sec to add 30 seconds to the timer. Some users will press that to set the timer for a quick 30-second operation while others may actually program in 30 seconds by hitting "Cook, 3, 0, Start." It accomplishes the same thing. The +30 Sec button is only for convenience but does not change the operation of the machine: it still cooks for 30 seconds at high power in both situations. I hope others find this information helpful and that this experience has been a good lesson learned for the folks at Ming's Mark in regard to providing good customer service. Marilyn did a good job but Marisol missed the mark by a mile!

DURADERO Y VERSATIL

Excellent Air Fryer
This is our second Air Fryer and we are as pleased with this one as the previous one. The controls are easy to use, the unit is not too loud and the food cooks well for everything we have tried, including but not limited to, Rotisserie Chicken, Chicken Breasts and Wings, Roast Pork and Rotisserie Pork, Egg Rolls and other snack and Garlic Cheese Bread. The cavity is slightly larger than other Manufacturer Makes, which allows for a better rotisserie sized chichen, (apprx 4 lb). The Red is quite nice and adds a nice accent colour to the kitchen. The interior cooking space dimensions: 10 1/4 " Wide x 9 1/2 " Deep x 7 1/4 high with the tray in place and 7 1/2 without the tray. I recommend this product.
