Decent Quality....
Appears to be as advertised imo-copper core not aluminum-as a retired auto tech this looks like 18 gauge too me---not sure what others mean they say it's small---18 gauge IS SMALL because it's 18 gauge.....

For once it is what they said it is 18AWG
I'm quite pleased with this product. Everything the seller claims seems to hold up and for once the claim of being AWG (American Wire Gauge) appears to be accurate. That's important because the standard for wire gauges in America are considerably larger than other countries standards. The wire itself is infact OFC (oxygen free copper) and not cheap ACC (aluminum copper clad) so it takes soldering very well.If I had anything negative at all to say about it, it would be that the insulation jacketing is a vinyl that's fairly on the stiff side. But I suppose a plus in that category would be it's thickness. It's not overly thick but certainly not to thin as well. So it can withstand a moderate amount of heat while soldering without just melting off the wire. All and all I'd say I'm very pleased with the overall quality and quantity of this product, and I'll most likely be a repeat customer in the future.

!00 foot Spool of #18 AWG Black & Red Wire
This was not my choice of wire. Too darn expensive. Only using it because of narrow confined wire routing difficulties. Be careful when using #18 AWG stranded wire because it can only handle 16 amps. It is NOT recommended for 120 volts (doorbells, cameras, lights, etc.) When using it on vehicles be aware there is a voltage drop and this must be calculated. People from EU or Asia use this 0.82 mm2 wire with 240 volts overseas, Many don't realize the safety limitations here in the US. When using this wire for connecting speakers, you lose sound quality due to the lack of current handling capability.Max frequency for 100% skin depth is 17 kHz. It is better to use wire specifically designed for speakers. Example #1 AWG wire is 325 Hz.

High Quality, Good Value 18 AWG Wire
I have a 3 way DSP (digital signal processor) controlled setup in my front doors. So 3 speakers in each door, each on their own channel, with 3 wires running from the amplifier to the door panel through the rubber loom connecting the car and door. Pulling wire through the loom can be a challenge due to lack of free space due to being occupied by factory wiring, and the angling of the loom itself.I found this wire to have to have plenty of flexibility, but with enough stiffness to make pulling it through the loom easier. The wire itself is made with real, quality copper. The 18 AWG size specifications look accurate when compared with other 18 AWG wire that I have.

Confirmed to be 18AWG and copper
I read some comments here that this wire was smaller than 18 AWG and it was not all copper. So, when I purchased the six rolls, I decided I would test them when they arrived.I first confirmed the wire is 18 AWG using a wire stripper with holes for each wire size. The wire I received is definitely too large to be 20 AWG and fits the 18 AWG holes.I then did a resistance check, which would confirm both the size of the wire and the type of metal used.I ran 1 Amp DC through the spool using a regulated power supply and measured 317 mV across the 50-foot coil. I used a four-wire connection, so contact resistance would not be an issue. If a 50-foot length has a resistance of 0.317 Ohms, this converts to 6.34 Ohms per 1000 feet. (0.317*1000/50)The standard resistance value for 18 AWG copper wire is 6.385 Ohms per 1000 feet. So, this wire is confirmed to be 18 AWG copper wire. This does not prove that the wire you will get is 18 AWG copper wire, because Amazon sometimes ships different products under the same item number. However, the wire that I received is as advertised.
