Wonderfull product when install is done right.
Absolutely love this product. So many child proof systems are either an eye sore, hard to use, or often create permanent damage to doors or cabinets. This is super easy and only leaves one small hole when you need to remove it, and to be honest it is so inconspicuous you may not have to remove it.The one downside is that you have to be able to install these carefully. If you have a door where the top of the door is tight to the uper frame this product might not work as you need to slide the lock into place when the door is closed or almost closed. You need about a fourth of an inch gap for this to work. Second when placing the screw into the upper frame choose a location as close to the door side of the frame as you can to make it easier to slide the lock into place. I recommend going on the inside of the door wand holding the plastic cap that goes over the screw in place and then sliding the lock to determine the best place to set the screw. If you take your time and set the system up it is very secure. I had my 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter try to open the door and they couldn't. Now I'm sure if I let them really try to pull as hard as they could or get a stool/chair they could get the door open, but the design with all safety lock systems is for little children that you can't reason with. For younger children you should not worry they are going to break this or harm your door.

The Bentley of Child Door Locks!
Basically, all other door knob covers on the market are for amateur toddlers/babies that sit quietly in their rooms and actually listen to their folks. For the rest of us raising little MacGyvers who thrive on defying direct commands of their caregivers/parents and enjoy breaking child safety gear like stealing candy from a baby this may be a true God send! We've literally tried all of the other kind of knob covers on the market with no avail. My little 2 yo MacGyver given just enough time and fortitude could out manuver them all in no time and would soon be found in the kitchen, bathroom, or backyard trying to make a break for it. When we are talking basic child safety such as preventing a child from straying the safety of the household sometimes you have to take different measures. This top door lock is not only easy to install taking approximately five to ten minutes depending on your handy man prowess but it is actually quite effective! It is easy to use that my older son is able to use it with no problems. My toddler son is also a door kicker too and this lock has withstood his barrage of assault with no problem! I'm quite satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it to parents with clever, perceptive Harry Houdinis. You will finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief and know that your dear child hasn't escaped the confines of their room and isn't in the process of hot wiring your car! Rest easy weary parents rest easy!

Works for what I need it for
Installing was extremely easy. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it does feel very flimsy and that it could break easy. So if you have kids or pets that like to push on door it will probably break. I think you’re definitely getting what you pay for.

Good product and great customer service
Good product. Needed something to keep a little one from opening a door but didn't want to mark up the door or install anything permanent. This fits the bill, its out of the way, easy to use. This is by no means heavy duty for security purposes. This is to be used for child proofing in a simple manner. One of the wands cracked but I messaged the seller and they shipped out some more, great customer service.

flimsy, allow wiggle room, and don't slide when door is closed
I'm disappointed, but we left the 2 installed that we had already done and are returning the other 2. This is why:-Flimsier than expected and leaves quite a bit of wiggle room when door is not "latched"--like when a child turns the doorknob in an attempt to open the door. (Seems like this amount of wiggle room will allow enough leverage to get the product broken easily if a child who isn't used to it tries to vigorously shake the door back and forth a few times to figure out what's going on??)-Main issue is that we have to slide these into the locked position without the door being fully closed, since if we try to slide them with the door closed, they are tight against the inner "lip" on the door frame and barely budge. simply scraping off door paint if we force them to slide. So you can't just slide them "mindlessly" shut in a rush--as you often are with kids!-- and you have to get used to carefully positioning the door just the right amount closed each time you want to lock it with this, then sliding it into position, then pulling the door fully closed. Not as simple and user-friendly as it looked in the video the one reviewer posted! I have no idea what would be different between her doors and mine, as our doors are within the specified measurements and I think all doors have the inner lip I am talking about (hers does; I can see it in the video). So I don't know what is going on with this.I wanted to use these on two closets in the kids' rooms that I did not want them to be able to freely access, since I planned to store some things in those closets that are off-limits for them. Those are the doors we kept them on, since we really need something and we didn't want to buy knobs with locks that we would need a key for. I wanted something I could use quickly, going in and out as often as needed, without having to go get a key each time. I also wanted to use these to make our master suite "off-limits" when guests' kids are here and don't know our household rules, and perhaps to make kid access impossible to either our cleaning closet or the laundry room (with all the dangerous chemicals). Well, looks like we'll be looking for another solution for some of these areas and just holding our breath to see how long the 2 last that are already installed! I'm disappointed, as I didn't see another product like this out there.

Fantastic for doors with handles instead of knobs
I purchased these as my condo's interior doors all have handles instead of knobs. This allows for easy child (or pet) proofing of these doors. I didn't screw mine into the frame, instead I used a command strip, which has held up and worked really well. I had used the dangling rods/handles at first, but ended up finding them useless (and they flopped around against the door when I was opening/closing it), instead I just stretch onto my tip toes to use the actual sliding part.It works as advertised and I highly recommend for doors with handles.

Cheap and doesn't slide with the door closed
Sent this back. It was cheap/flimsy and not worth the trouble of installing. It wouldn't slide with the door closed making it completely useless without modifying the door frame anyways.

review
Works as advertised. Easy to install on your average door. It feels like very flimsy plastic though, which I guess is what you'd expect from something at this price point. I'm not sure at what age a child would be able to just break through this lock.
