Dumb and Dumber To (2014)

Not as good as the original but funny

I watched it twice, since I had two days with it on my account as a rental. It’s not a banger like the original, nor is it fresh. It’s like the director is stuck in the 90’s “boogers and farts are top comedy” thing, but now (well what was) 20 years or so later...Jim and Jeff did their parts well, though the writing was as poor as the flop “Dumb and Dumberer”, just with funnier main cast. It’s worth a watch if you are not here to just eat it alive, which I’m not trying to do - just trying to be honest.Jim had some moments where my OCD “let’s see that again! 30 times!!” rewind finger kicked in. They were small bits, lasting like 5 seconds. Classic Jim Carrey antics! The scene “he wanted me to, ya know, entertain (crazy faces and dance) yaaaaaa.” I watched that phrase about 30 times. (I know. I actually do have a life.) Another where he almost threw up out of anxiety after a fight with Harry. If you wanna rent it for these glimmers of nostalgic gold, please do! Just don’t expect a blockbuster... not that those are a thing these days... (literally or figuratively.)

This much-anticipated sequel mostly falls flat compared to the 1994 original "Dumb and Dumber". I am a huge fan of the first movie, but this sequel seems a bit 'too little, too late'. Aside from both Carrey and Daniels looking much older, they have done a great job of staying true to the original characters of Lloyd and Harry, but the story never seems to get a life of its own like the first one did.... It comes across mostly like deleted outtakes from the original film. The jokes aren't very funny (it seems the writers inserted long pauses after many of them - wrongly anticipating that the audience was going to pass out from laughter) and for the most part, much of this sequel failed to get more out of me than a subdued giggle, which in comparison to the original movie, had me laughing my head off. I'm not sure where the writers went wrong, but they "lost the Mojo". Part of the problem is poor casting. Unlike strong (and unforgettable) supporting characters from the first film - like Joe, Mary, Nicolas, and even Seabass - there isn't a single one in the sequel; they are predictable and boring. Even the soundtrack is awful; using a lot more of the original soundtrack would have helped this sequel immensely. I think what's missing most from this sequel is a decent story. This isn't one. What we get is a couple of "ok" gags, unfunny jokes and totally forgettable situations. I actually watched this when it first came out years ago, but thought I'd revisit is on Blu-ray, having not seen if for awhile and thinking it might deserve a second chance. I couldn't believe how much I had forgotten since I'd last seen it, when compared to the original film, where I can still recollect dozens of the jokes, gags and one-liners, like, "Check please!" "Find a happy place" "I look CARE of it!" "Our bird's heads are falling off!" "I guess you never made a mistake!" "I like it a lot" "You're one pathetic loser - no offense" and many more. "Dumb and Dumber To" will probably appeal to the only the biggest and 'dumbest' fans of the original film.

I was expecting more from this two together..

I was pleasantly surprised to be laughing just as hard at the sequel as the original. Lloyd and Harry still got it! If you like the first film then you will like this one as well.

I love both movies, but this one feels a little forced at times compared to the first. Overall still a great movie

I'm a huge fan of the first movie. I've seen it at least 20 times. Saw the sequel at the theater when it first came out and it just laid there. Really disappointing. I finally bought the DVD thinking maybe I'd enjoy it after watching it a 2nd or 3rd time. Nope. It just laid there. There were lots of great ideas that played off of the first movie, but for some reason it just all fell flat. The extra material on the DVD is basically everybody patting themselves on the back about how great it was, but I wonder if they had sat down and watched the finished product. Again, I can't tell you what's wrong with it...it's an odd thing in that often something happens in life and you find yourself telling people that "you had to be there"; well, this is opposite in that when you tell people about it it sounds much better than it plays when you watch it. Still, the original was so great that if they make a part 3, I'm running straight to the theater. Buy this to fill out your Jim Carrey collection; otherwise skip it.

Seguramente sea el mismo disco que contiene la versión con caja en español.Recibido a tiempo y en perfecto estado.Es muy lamentable que los compradores que quieran la versión con la caja en español, tengan que pagar más de un 400% que con esta versión, siendo la misma película en español de España y con una carátula muy bien cuidada, como se ve en las fotos.

Esta película tiene el doblaje en castellano de España.

la verdad esque merece la pena tener esta peli. las risas estan aseguradas,jin carrey hace un gran papel y su compañero de reparto igual, 100 por 100 recomendable

Gran película. Aunque el doblaje de Lloyd no es el original, no pierde nada de divertido la película. Totalmente recomendada. Tan buena como la 1ª
