overall the best way to buy!
buying in bulk with high quality ingredients and minimally processed food. this food takes the cake for the best easy to feed food that my picky dog loves. the valley flavors require less food for the same nutritional intake, meaning you can use less ounces of food to meet the standards that your pet needs daily

First Dog Food That My Dogs Would Eat!!
Here’s my story.....My 2 dogs (Chihuahua & Chiweenie) are 11 & 12 years old. From the time they were babies, they would NOT eat dog food. I’ve tried every type of Premium dog food out there & they would not eat it. I’ve been making them home made food (steak or rotisserie chicken w brown rice & veggies), which is nutritious but is definitely a hassle. Every time I’d try a new dog food, I couldn’t take their sad, hungry faces and would cave in and make them their food. I came across this doggy food & was really impressed with its ingredients and the fact that it’s not like the typical kibble dog food. It looks more like a dog treat, so I had to give it a try. I bought the trial sizes and low & behold........they both ate it!!!! I kid you not, this is the first dog food that they have ever eaten! I thought maybe they would eat it for a day or 2 but it’s been almost 2 weeks and they eat it EVERY DAY! (Also bought a big bag of the Otago Valley) Yes, it’s super expensive but I mix it w some of Stella & Chewy’s Duck Duck Goose (I got lucky w that one too as it’s the 2nd dog food that they actually will eat & it’s also a premium, nutritious dog food!), so it’s being stretched. I also like that they’ve eaten all 3 flavors so I can change it up & give them a variety. The most important factor for me is their health and I know with Ziwi, I’m feeding them a very nutrient dense food. If you ask me, you can’t put a price on that. So bottom line is, yes it’s expensive but it’s worth every $!

Expensive but great food
New Zealand's agriculture is excellent. Free range chicken, sea mussels and wild mackerel cooked at low temperatures. My dog's hair is beautiful and healthy. I also like grain free dog food.

My picky eater loves it
This food is expensive, but I think it's worth it. The ingredients are top-notch, and both of my dogs love this food. I give it to them as a snack before bed, sometimes as treats when we go for walks, and if my little pooch gets picky with her regular food, I give her this and she eats it no problem. I would switch them over to this food completely, but the little one tends to eat well on a food for awhile, then get picky with it and I don't want her to go off this food because it's really good for them. So they get it as a snack meal at night and other select times. They have been eating it for about 5-6 months now and she still loves it. Recommended.

Oh we have a winner !! Otago Ziwi food is the bomb !!!
I just wrote a long review on the lamb Ziwi and our elder dog LOVES it but it wasn’t until Ziwi made this Otago Valley and I bought it, that he went crazyI have never experienced him ever liking a food this much ! He would literally eat this until he passed out. I have to be careful to make sure I don’t give him too much( i just love seeing him so happy ;))This recipe features 96 percent meat, organs and bone including grass-fed beef, venison, lamb and whole southern blue whiting. Superfoods like cold-washed tripe, New Zealand green mussel and organic kelp support digestion while building on the fantastic taste.Air dried and soft , the pieces are just perfect for him and his older teeth ;) ( he’s12)I will be buying this forever I think !Only problem is it doesn’t come in the one lb sacks. Two lbs is too expensive for us , so I buy the 2 lbs in the lamb and mix a couple of the 5 ounce trial sizes of this, into itHe doesn’t realize it’s not all Otago recipeI did notice these pieces are much softer ( maybe fresher ) than the older recipes , thoJust a word to Ziwi : please make this in the one lb size ?Thanks for making this !!

Incredible Dog Food - Incredibe Cost per feeding
My keeshond loves this brand, and out of all the limited ingredient legume-free grainless brands we've trialed, this is clearly the best. That said, with her favourite flavour (Hauraki Plains) maxing out at 64 Imperial oz (here on Amazon), and her maintenance weight at 40-43 imperial pounds, each bag is only good for 10 days worth of feeding. At the time of this review, it's 93 dollars per bag. It's definitely worth the cost but it's still a consideration, an increasingly weighty consideration given the current world climate.

Skip Chewy - price as good here
I was using Chewy but between poor shipping charges and the fact their site was hacked and people were buying on my account over and over again, even after I called, confirmed, changed passwords and such. This product is actually very good and my dog is quite picky as he only likes the Ziwi chicken bag.Love there products, although it’s all pricey, if you can afford it for a small dog, it’s well worth it versus main stream dog foods.

High calorie
This is a very high quality dog food. But be aware that it is also high calorie. My dog gained a lot of weight with this food. I am still using Ziwi but am only making it a small part of my dog’s diet at this point. Also, the portion size on the bag is too much for my dog in terms of calories needed for her size although she is rather active. I do think it’s great quality and plan to continue to have it as part of her diet but 500 calories for a cup of dog food is a lot. I have a fairly small dog so the calories packed weight on her rather quickly.
