Loved this!!! So much more detail than the 1st book!!!
Quick update.....Book 3 wait is over as it releases tomorrow!!! Just please try to hurry w/ book 4, as an early 2022 release is so long away!!!I heart me this author lolThat moment you regret binging a really good story so quickly & don't know when the next book will be released. That about sums up my feelings! lolHonestly, a lot happens & not, at the same time; but in a delightful way. While we dont get extreme story progression, we do get such intense character & world development that, to me, was lacking in book 1. Absolutely, some major moments do happen; but in the grand scheme of the storyline, so much more is awaiting to be discovered in the next book! Some big & subtle hints are dropped throughout, concerning Maya's true lineage (I give my opinion on what I believe happened at the end).I re-read the 1st book before this, just to refresh the details. The differences in both books is amazing & has elevated this story to new levels. The attention to detail was excellent (I absolutely respect an artist who provides such finesse). I was originally annoyed that book 1 has so many details left unanswered, too slow in progressing the characters, & just has an overall lack of romantic progression. But finishing book 2 after immediately rereading book 1 showed me how detail oriented the author became. Such minuscule changes took this storyline to another level. Because of the details, immersion was not broken for me; which allowed me to imagine the story unfold as though replaying a memory.I still don't see the purpose of having full scenes with the dragon council members. Unless some members are hidden antagonists, in reference to my opinion on the Dreki realm I wrote at the end.My only complaint with book 2 is how the mating is unfairly staggered with solidifying their bonds to each other (some mates Maya has not exchanged markings yet, while others have, or some fully cemented their bond together before everyone has been solidified as an identified mate - this fluctuation actually made me sad for the men that are basically being left-out). Come now, she knows not everyone is bonded & could have quickly rectified that. If there's an actual storyline reason for staggering the bonds of her guys, then that's understandable. But right now I'm not seeing a reason.*** Potential Spoilers w/ my opinion ---I think there's a dragon traitor, from the Dreki realm, that wants to usurp the current Queen. So during the recent Dreki battle, they smuggled a baby Maya from the realm & into the hands of a cult Pastor & his wife. They obviously are a part of the cult that believes they can obtain immortality by drinking the blood of certain shifters (I won't spoil Maya's confirmed shifter race!). That Dreki has prob been scheming to then murder the Queen, once no female heir exists (the biology of why/how this would be possible is explained in the book). So when the group now returns to Dreki, hopefully this leads Maya to her true parents that will love & protect her. If not, I hope her mates burn it all down & place Maya as the new Queen (which could happen in the former, happier option too).Idk if I'm looking too deep at these still-missing details or not, but, how/why did Maya's "mom" believe the Pastor died? Also how did Jed come about? I don't have any concrete ideas on what occurred between the Pastor & his wife, other than a trope of the "mother" always loved Jed but settled for the Pastor until she formed a plan to escape him. Maybe it was so she would'nt be forced to share the "shifter blood" for immortality? I'd definitely appreciate solid answers for the whole Pastor, "mother", & Jed mess. Also confirmation on it being a cult & how large the "commune" is. Clearly more is to come from that end, in the next book! Please have Maya solidify her mating bonds with ALL of the men soon! What's with the mentioning of so many different, connected realms? Will they be adventuring to them, other than the Dreki realm? Or is the mentioning just foreshadowing potential spinoffs?

good
Book two picks up where book one left off…Maya realizes her father isn’t dead, but what it means is concerning to the flight. In this one Maya faces an adoring public, the wrath of a bear, and both accusations and realizations - as well as finding out the truth of what she is.This is a fairly lighthearted read, despite the issues of Maya’s past treatment- mostly because most of the book focuses on very different subjects, and Maya is a definite ray of sunshine. It’s an enjoyable tale, and there are some interesting revelations in this book (not always about Maya), as well as some action, and a few sexy scenes. This is an enjoyable read for the RH fantasy fan.

Phenomenal
I love reading books that capture all kinds of emotional intriguing passionate love friendship even heartache aspects of it because you feel like you are in that roller coaster of emotion with each one of these characters and Maya is an incredible character she's been through so much and yet she still sees the world in a beautiful light and I can't wait to get to the next book and the next and the next M Sinclair is a wonderful writer and I have bought every one of her books and I'm still getting through them because she's a recent add-on to my top five best authors you won't be disappointed with any of her books start this series trust me you'll love it

Cute
Cute story but it is dragging a little bit. I wish there was more going on. It’s great that she finally shifted and Jordan found her mate. But I want more

Good
I liked the development of the story. There were a few very slow parts, but what really bothered me was the lack of proof reading. The book needs it ASAP

Mostly loved it
I love Maya and her men and it is very well written.Spoiler alert. But how can you be that dense. The Queen is a blue Phoenix who “lost” her daughter almost 18 years ago. But somehow no one makes the connection? I thought Cory knew about that stuff?

Loveeed it!
Maya is settling in with her mates, but her father isn't done with her. While she tries to learn more about herself, her men, and the supe world, the man she thought was dead is lurking in the shadows, waiting to bring her back to Louisiana.Ugh, I love Maya and her men. Like her mates, I find her so fascinating and she's so innocent I want to shield her from those people being mean to her. When she had that little fight with her guys, I was totally cheering for her. She now has the opportunity to fight her own battle and sometimes her guys forget that she's a strong woman.Atlas is still my favorite, along with Sai and Henry. And Anani, I love how he steals Maya's belongings, it's so adorable! Now I cannot wait to read book 3 and see what's going to happen once Maya and her mates get to Dreki!
