A quality device with limitations
It is obviously a well-made and well-thought-out product, but here's the problem: although the manual is pretty much comprehensible, getting this thing to pull sound out of a TV and then wirelessly send it to the earbuds proved to be almost impossible. In the end I had to use the analog (red & white) leads and hook them up to the cable box - which means that only programming that originates with cable TV is delivered through the device. Well, I'd like it to feed all the sound which relates to the TV, but none of the analog ports from the TV produced sound in these earbuds. So, for example, when I'm streaming something and the sound does come from the TV it still doesn't feed this device. Believe me, I tried all the plugs. If anyone can tell me why this is and what to do about it I would greatly appreciate the guidance. Furthermore, the extra functions that this hearing enhancer offers are pretty much not on my list of needs - but there they are and I have to pay for them too. Why doesn't this company make a device that is specifically for TV sound, and then explain that it is not going to work except when hooked up to the cable box. Lastly, the earbuds that came with it are supposed to be mute-able, but that does not work. So I have to listen to the ads or take the buds out of my ears. Something very GOOD about this device is that I can walk away from the TV and around the corner and work in the kitchen and the sound from the TV comes with me. This is unique among the devices of this kind that I have reviewed.

Did not get good reception when using as a independent amplifier
Did not get good reception when using as a independent amplifier. In fairness the connections to the amplifier did not seat well. Returned it. May try again in the future.

Works very well
Easy to install and pair Bluetooth. Installed with optical audio. Normally when I listen to TV some of the words are clipped off and I miss what is being said. The words are very clear with the VitaSound. Best sound is with HDTV sound turned to 0 and use the earplugs with the VitaSound unit. Have not tried this with others in the room yet. The sound was amazingly clear with the iPhone. Seemed to work well in talk mode but to bulky to replace a real hearing aid. Well constructed and I highly recommend the unit.

Not to my expectations, poor sound. Also, could not get in touch with Vitasound either by email or by phone. Therefore I returned the product.

Not for arthritic hands
Sound quality OK, but setup is not easy. Transmitter & receiver must be reset each time they are turned on, which is annoying. Switching between modes (TV, ordinary speech, etc). requires manipulating very small controls, which is hard to do when you have arthritis. Headphones are uncomfortable, although you can use the unit with different ones, if the other problems are not an issue for you. A much better idea, for TV only, is a wireless transmitter and remote speaker .
