Glad to Find These and Per Piece
I like to keep these on hand particularly when I need to make a quick temporary fix to a leak in my drip irrigation system. Happens more as the 20+ year old tubing ages and splits. I can cut back to the water side of the leak and insert this plug. Much simpler than the method to fold the tube back on itself using a plastic Figure-8 or install the longer intended Clean-Out Cap. This way I can keep other legs of the drip system running. When I am ready to dig and piece in the replacement, this plug easily twists out. I can also use these to cap runs that I am abandoning. That is where my past supply went. The Big Box where I last purchased these stopped carrying them, likely for lack of demand. I was happy to find these here in individual quantities for a nice low price. Glad I didn't need to buy a bag of 20. Fortunately they came in the box with other items I ordered so they didn't ship by themselves.

Works great, no leaks
Works great, no leaks. I have 5/8 inch irrigation pipe (the black plastic tube, not the thicker white PVC) and I was worried it wouldn't fit. All 5 fit perfectly fine with no leaks. Caution, I am unable to pull my pipe out of the fitting - I just wanted to see if it's possible - so be like a carpenter and measure twice before use. Be aware that the pipe goes into the fitting fairly deep, maybe a full inch.

No leaking and great for drainage
These are great for clearing the hoses of sand or draining water at the end of the season. I keep a few extra on hand in case I need to shorten an irrigation hose, but these work great and don't leak. A good quality item

Alright After You Figure It Out
***Update 09-11-2017*** After learning that you must twist the caps counter-clockwise for them not to explode off, everything is working brilliantly for me. I installed them in the dark due to my job, so I missed the small black-on-black pictogram on the cap that says twist clockwise before removing. From this, I inferred that you must twist left to leave in place. This has worked for one cycle of water so far. I don't feel like this is necessary to include a sheet of instructions on, but the seller could include this in the description of the item. ***Original Review*** I installed only two of these to serve as end-of-season flush caps for my 1/2" irrigation system. After installing them, I figured I'd give them a test. I put my electronic valve in manual for 10 minutes. The water turned on and I decided this would be a good time to check for leaks. After getting about half-way through my system, I heard a loud boom. Up until that point, there were no leaks. However, afterwards, I had 1/2" of water coming out of a flush caps, which had decided to relieve itself of its duties. This is on a system with a 20 PSI pressure regulator, so I doubt the flush cap had anywhere near 60# on it. Also, the end flush cap on the system flew off before the first flush cap did. Maybe I had a dud, but it seems as though these caps aren't reliable enough for away-from-home operation on a 1/2" water line. If I had not been home, I would've probably lost a thousand gallons of water under my normal watering schedule atleast. I mean, if this thing made it longer than a solid minute, I might have a better opinion. When I made it back to my electronic valve, the timer hadn't moved in the minute position, so I know this lasted less than a minute.

Great Value
Easy to use and was not overly difficult to push in and seat the pipe to the fitting. I would definitely purchase and use again if needed.

Great parts for the do it yourself repair person
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Essential item for any do-it-yourself person who wants to install or fix yard irrigation. I was tired of paying someone a lot of money to come fix simple leaks in the yard… with this (and a host of other parts), I’m now far more self-sufficient.

Very easy to use.
It doesn't get much better than this. Push connections worked really easy. No problems at all.

Worst Fittings ever!
If there is a minus star I would leave the comment as such. Bought a few of these and I have never felt so compelled to write a review so hopefully other won’t go through what I did. Installed a total of 5 fittings on my 1/2” drip line and it stated “universal.” And they are not!!!!! It was super difficult to slip the fitting with the drip line but I went ahead and completed the install with every strength I could summon. Activated the valve and every fitting leaked! Always been a fan of rain bird’s quality but I was beyond disappointment. The only variable was my 1/2” drip came from the Dig brand (Home Depot); but I made sure the OD size was .70 and it should have worked! Taking out the fittings was a horrible and by the time I was done, It felt like an hour gym session. Went back the HD and bought all the DIG brand fittings for less $ and they slip on easy and no more leaks. Perhaps you need to stick with the same brand to avoid the hassle. I am now hesitant to buy another rainbird 1/2” fittings.
