I’ve had purple hair since 2018 so I would say I have years of experience with a variety of bright color hair dyes from many different brands. My natural hair color is medium dark brown, but I’ve had gray hair since I was a kid and 30-35% of it is gray. Semi-permanent color doesn’t really cover my grays, so I had to use Ion Permanent Brights in purple for my roots, and ArcticFox for the rest, which after trying MULTIPLE brands, this was the one that worked the best for me. I’d still had to co-wash my hair only once a week to make the color last as long as possible, re-color it once a month, and re-touch my roots every 6-8 weeks depending on growth. I love my purple hair but the maintenance process is exhausting! I NEEDED to find a more permanent solution. I stumbled upon Colour-Plex in Amethyst so I decided to give it a shot. I washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo before applying to get rid off as much of the previous color as possible. First impression: Colour-Flex was very easy to mix, it smelled good, application was smooth, and there was just enough product to fully cover my entire shoulder length thick hair. The recommended processing time is 25 minutes, but I left it on about an hour before washing it with cold water using only conditioner and rinsed it until the water was clear. I have to say that I’m very impressed with the results and I like it so far! Once my hair dried, I noticed that my grays were completely covered and it deposited enough color on the rest of my hair so I didn't need to use a color mask after to get it to the shade I like. The color is a deep purple with blue undertones that looks almost black inside and bright purple in natural light, my hair smells amazing and it is sooo soft! Also, I noticed that my hands and nails weren’t stained after styling it, which is a problem I’ve dealt with my previous method. It might be too soon to tell, but I’ll comeback with an update after wash day.

I have my hair with some highlights that I done and that left my hair very dry (even using the most expensive products, shampoo and treatments.. nothings help to bring life to my hair. I stopped using hair color for almost 3 months -obviously the roots was noticeable, but I don’t want to damage more my hair. My hair is dark and barely have some gray hair. Is the reason I make some highlights for add dimension and not have just a flat color. That chemical process was to much for my thin hair (I’m a 53 years old woman) But I give a try to this brand.. this hair color really restore my hair! Left with life and movement. I have 11 days from I used to. I not sure if the color will last.. but I could put another layer of this same hair color, it really is like a treatment for your hair, left the mine in really good condition.. I make a subscription for receive 3 per month (just in case have some additional there. 👌 And I just want to say that (worry for my last hair damaged of highlights) I used 2 bottles of hair color, because I uses less peroxide in the mix (like 1/2 oz less of peroxide in each mix) and then I left working in my hair for almost 28 minutes. But the results are beautiful.. I’m in love with this 💖 In the photo I show the highlights that I made at home on my dark hair (I have previously another purple color) that highlights at home was what damaged more my hair. But this color dark purple -like eggplant 🍆.. I really like the works in color and treatment on hair -see on videos after I used recently this new hair color treatment on my hair.. soft, repaired,lustrous, touching hair. So in my venture to find a replacement for my old favorite (Arctic Fox, review there) hair dye that has gone down the drain. I came across this one, having been dying my hair for well over a decade now I have TRIED some things. So this is not the first one claiming “permanent purple” so I was aware it may not work as advertised. I was hopeful nonetheless. -So in mixing I was very concerned as the cream stayed an extremely light purple until 20 minutes into the process. Which to be fair I have seen before. -The formula didn’t stink too bad, I have used much stronger smelling ones, definitely in a well ventilated area though. - After following directions and rinsing it did dry out my hair a bit more than I would like. - So as for color I was only able to get two spots to actually be “bright” purple. Those were the super blonde spots. -Side note: When I prep my hair I don’t like to do an even lighting because then you get a flat “even” color on top. This way you get variation and dimension. - Everything other than the super blond spots turned an “Ash purple” like if purple were denim. - So I was like “Ok fine not what I was going for but I’ll go with it a bit” Unfortunately the next time after just rinsing with water about 90% of the color rinsed out! The bright purple was pastel and everything else was almost gray purple. It was the equivalent fade I would get in 2 months from any “Semi Permanent” So All that being said my journey for a new better purple continues. In the meantime if you are looking for permanent gray purple this would be an amazing choice other than that don’t waste the time and money.

Giving a solid 3-3.5. I never leave reviews, but some of the reviews on here seem a bit ignorant, so I wanted to make sure that people knew what they were getting into and to read the instructions and other reviews... 1) I used metallic rose gold, and the woman on the package pictured here has different colored hair vs the woman on the package I received. Not a big deal, but I may not have purchased. 2) I said scr*w it and went for it anyway. It's a bit darker, but the color is actually nice and it will fade some. This is not a pastel color initially, or at least it isn't on me, and the ends of my hair are straight up bleached. 3) YOU HAVE TO CUT THE TIP OFF THE BOTTLE TO GET THE COLOR OUT. My package noted this, but some people I guess didn't read the instructions?? 4) It says you don't need to condition, but I indeed conditioned afterward as my hair did not feel soft at all. Felt fine after conditioning and didn't change the color. 5) It didn't cover my grey hairs, which was the most disappointing part for me as that is why I bought it. I had been using the Moroccanoil hair color depositing mask (which works great in my opinion for temporary color), but it didn't cover greys, and it legit says it will in the description. I left it on for the full amount of time, but I still have some greys poking out at my roots, which is making me crazy because I tried to really scrub it in there. It looks like they picked up a tinge of color but nothing compared to the rest of my hair. 6) THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE PERMANENT! It is only supposed to last a few weeks. Buy permanent dye if you want it to last longer or buy the Moroccanoil mask if you want to keep refreshing. All in all, I think it went well - just wish those pesky grey were covered better, and I'd bump to 4 stars. If you don't like it, it's only temporary.

Does the trick if you’re looking for something with a little more oomph and have darker hair already that just hates fun colors. Loved the color, it actually lasted every bit as long as I wanted! I just wish they had included some way to save unused dye because my hair was so short at the time of using I barely needed any, i felt awful wasting it.

My hair is naturally white but does occasionally get the blonde color infiltrating my hair so I tried this. It worked well but did leave my hair a little dry so make sure to use a conditioner

Showed up decent in my dark brown hair. The red looks beautiful in the sun or light. Easy to use. Lasts a few months in my hair easily. Not hard to clean up if she gets anywhere, like in the shower when rinsing.

Je modifie mon précédent commentaire après avoir fait ma coloration qui est très réussie! Joli gris métallique, ne fais pas "vieux", couleur éclatante et même rajeunissante! Je comprends pourquoi il n'y a pas de soin dans la boîte : le produit est très doux, mais si vous avez les cheveux secs comme moi, un après-shampoing suffit. Je recommande ce produit les yeux fermés, il ne brûle pas le cuir chevelu comme les autres! Merci pour cette découverte!

I have previously had my hair dyed red by a professional, but being unable to get to a salon again during these times, I took the chance to touch up my hair at home. I also decided I wanted something more orange-red than the dark-red I had. This is definitely a bright orange shade, but after a few washes fades down a bit. I love it and have already ordered again.
