The innovative Alesis Surge Mesh Drum Pad Expansion Set features a 8” dual-zone mesh head drum pad that delivers a classic-feeling drumming experience with modern electronic drum versatility. Nothing duplicates the feel of acoustic drums like Alesis Mesh technology. The tension of the mesh head can be adjusted with a standard drum key. This mesh pad is velocity-sensitive and quiet—perfect for late night practice. It’s compatible with almost any electronic drum module, from Alesis’ own Surge module to any other major brand, so you can upgrade your newest set or replace a missing piece from your old one. Includes: 8” Mesh Head Pad L-Arm Clamp 10ft TRS Connection Cable ALESIS NITRO NOTE: Please note, it is *not* compatible with the Alesis Nitro Kit rack which uses a unique smaller 1 1/4in clamp. It can be used with the Nitro Kit if you have a Nitro clamp. (not included) Almost all other electronic drum kits use the 1 1/2 in rack diameter clamps and it is completely compatible with those.

Great price
Perfect item, just as described. I have a Surge kit and it's great to add a 4th tom at a good price. Everything was factory new, safely packaged, and the pad works as it should. It's an 8" dual-zone mesh head, came with the clamp and L-rod and connection cable. The clamp is standard 1.5" diameter, so check if it fits your set.

Not so good for Yamaha DTX 400s kit.
This a good mesh head that feels good to play BUT..It doesn’t work well with a Yamaha DTX 400 controller. The dtx400 can handle a three zone snare but it can’t sync with this two zone pad. It also will double trigger. I minimized the double triggering by adjusting the velocity curve and volume level of the pad. Will still double trigger occasionally but not enough to stress over. I adjusted the 400 to try the different types of snares to see if it would help with the “zone issue” on the pad to no avail. I bought this pad for the price and I believe the manufacturer even stated in the description that this item may not work with all kits. I’m going to keep it on my kit because it feels so nice to play. It fit perfectly on my Yamaha rack and allowed me to use the old snare pad plugged into my kick pad as another voice. Just wish it would play the second zone.

Exactly what I was looking for
This item is perfect. Exactly as described. 8” Dual Zone Mesh Tom with mounting bracket, L-Rod & 1/4” cable. Connected as Tom 4 to my Alesis Surge Mesh Kit. Best price too! Could not be happier. Highly recommend.

Unbranded gear
This is just unbranded gear that functions as well as the kit piece you would get when buying the Drum kit, it just doesn't have the name and is just a little bit cheaper made! Works as it's supposed to and does make a good add on for your kit. Seller packages it well and ships in an expected amount of time and communication was good too! Satisfied and would buy again if needed.

Works great
I purchased this kit to upgrade my Alesis Command X mesh kit to 4 toms. This kit has everything you need to add the fourth tom and it works perfectly. Price is great.

Expand your kit
I have a Simmons SD600 and needed another pad so I could keep rocking. This Alexa fits right in perfectly and mounts exactly the same as the Simmons. I can tune it the same and it makes my kit so much more expanded. Next up is another cymbal, and it’s on the way now. Well worth the price for the expansion pad.

Same without Logo
Almost identical to the Alesis mesh 8" head, no logo and the rim has a thinner rubber guard, Mount is cheaper product but works as well as the Alesis factory shipped mounts. Also has a longer metal L bar, which is helpful when mounting as a fourth tom.

My experience
I was not happy with my experience, had to pay more money out of pocket with another company because the clamp provided would not fit my own stand and could not be made smaller only tighten. The clamp they provide is solely for the drum kit stand tube. I am waiting to see what the company will do to make things right. Will keep you posted. I am giving this a two star only because of the quality of the pad not my experience.
