A little bit too narrow to work with the microphones spread out but a great product nevertheless.

When I first opened the box I thought that maybe it would be to small to flip the on board mics to their A-B position with the dead cat attached. It turns out that I can put the sock on and then flip the microphone position. Works great. I've only used it in light winds so far, but works as advertised, and a good bargain for the price.

My cats seem to think that it might be a new toy…but it’s really just a wind screen.It fits the Tascam well. It’s a tight fit, but better that than it falling off. It cuts wind noise appreciably when recording outdoors.

threw this on my Tascam DR-40 went outside and spun around as fast as I could and could barely hear any noise (might as well be no noise). I took the windscreen off spun around again and it made the audio peak.This windscreen is cheap, and works great!

Covers my dr40x perfectly and out on the field, recordings are clean. Tight fit, but has never slipped off so far.

It works as advertised. No more wind noises.

This can barely squeeze over the top of a DR-40x. It’s small and it’s tight. You’ll be nervous about damaging the mics trying to get it on and off and it’ll be a pain every time. If you want the mics in their wide AB setting you can forget about it. Same goes if you plan on monitoring through headphones (though tascam’s placement of the headphone jack is probably to blame there). This windscreen won’t go on or stay on in either of these situations.This would probably work fine on one of Tascam’s smaller recorders, don’t get it for a dr-40x.
