Soul by Ludacris SL150BU Hi-Definition Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

The bass is amplified and the mids are a bit distorted. If you can deal with that, the audio quality is pretty much on point- there's not as much clarity to the sound as there is with the BBD Studio headphones, but again, these aren't the top of the line headphones you'd want for such.Overall, I like them because for what the price is -less than $100- they sound just as good as the BBD Studio headphones, minus the clear mids and minus the requirement of having to use batteries. Yes, the SL150s don't use batteries for noise cancelling, and I have to say, the durability on these are better than BBD Solo HDs.These SL150s are comfortable, look great (you can get custom skins on skinit), seem durable so far, and the audio quality really isn't that bad as most people imagine. I tried these first from a friend who had them, and bought a pair of my own once I figured out I needed a decent pair for both school and work. Having the iPod/iPad/iPhone cord to up the volume, lower the volume, and pause/play the songs is also nice if you have applicable devices.If you've been a fan of Bose headphones, this probably isn't the pair for you to switch to- I've noticed with the Bose headphones that the highs and mids are fantastic, but the bass is always lacking (from trying on/listening to multiple Bose model headphones).

I chose these headphones after checking them out at a brick and mortar retailer who wanted full retail. I liked the sound, with less bass than the Dr. Dre Beats (I found that the Beats problem is not the level of bass itself, but what frequencies are included in the bass boost. In my opinion, it includes more frequencies than it should and sound "boomy" to me. The Sol Republics are my next buy...). Anyway.... the Souls were good for the price, around sixty bucks when I got them, but they went right to the family computer for use there... and that was the problem. If you are going to get these, you will need to take them STRAIGHT up off your head. My son has a tendency to grab an earcup and lift up and off, and that is where the problem came in. If you see those three chrome "stripes" in the picture, where the padding ends, the only thing holding those section together is less than 1/8" thick are of un-reinforced plastic. I would expect at a stress point like this there would be some type of backing (metal would be nice...) Would you like to guess how many pieces my headphones are in now?In all... sound good, structure... be careful.

I called souls department on box. Due to replacing a wire that went bad. The first man was the rudist person I have ever talk to on a phone. Second person promised to help me sent me an email wanting my head set to be sent God knows where. And still no wirer. I was informed that they no longer made the blue set in soul, which I have. Due to low volume in sales. So if you decide to buy soul in any style and are not satisfied, please return in 30 days or u are crap out of luck. Me I would never think of buying any soul product again. Rude rude people. One more thing. When I first received them I tried to get a serial no. (Box has no number on it) good luck with that one, it is not going to happen. Beware is all I got to say. As for the looks cool. Sound I was not that too impressed. Wire u are supposed to us is junk. I was bummen so I used phone wired, it worked and sounded way much better. I do hope this helps someone.

Sound quality is very good. I have listened to a variety of music ranging from Electronic to Classical to Rock. I love the bass, and the clarity of the sound.Comfort is good, but not as good as I expected it to be. My ears started hurting after about 70-80 minutes of having them on.On a different note, I love how compact the headphones are, I had no hassle travelling with them on or inside the case which I could easily buckle to my carry on bag or to my pants.

I just unwrapped these for Christmas a few hours ago and am listening to Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y Rooftops and it sounds amazing. Definately good sound and style, they look amazing, exactly like the picture. They fit great to. I would reccomend these to anyone who is considering getting Beats by Dre, I got these when Amazon had them on sale for $49.99, but even at their normal price they are worth the money, I am just really happy that the person who bought them for me happend to order them when they were $50. I highly reccomend them though, seriously the sound is balanced perfect and it comes with a nice case, 2 cords and a cleaning cloth

I gave a 4 star rating because:1) it has very good sound quality2) it is comfortable for short time wearing3) I bought it for huge discountand reasons it didn't get five stars:1) my ears feel pain if I wear this headset for over an hour. I think mostly because it sits on my ears instead of covering my ears.2) full price is definitely too high. just like other similar brands, it isn't worth more than $100

My 14 year old son wanted the Beats headphones, which I refused to pay $200 for headphones. He loved these and was just as happy. The only difference is the Beats offer surround sound, so other cannot hear what you are listening to and it is wireless. These however our not wireless and you can hear the music outside the headphones. However, they sound is great and it works properly. Although they are a discontinued item, I would recommend them to anyone.

These are really nice and had great sound but within 3 months of use they stopped working. Thankfully we were able to ship them back to the manufacture (with the original receipt) and they replaced them with new ones (or would have fixed them if possible). That warranty is good for one year. The new ones are working great. Let's hope the new pair doesn't have the same problem after 3 months as the original.
