The Chefs Kitchen Chip Shop Vinegar, 2.5L

Takes like real chip shop vinegar! Not the awful tasting malt vinegar.Great value, lasts ages.

This is the stuff that ‘makes your tabs laugh’. ‘Proper’ chip shop vinegar makes me sweat when I have it. Shop bought malt vinegar tastes different and doesn’t have that ‘sweat’ effect on me. This did. Tastes great, feels like it’s burning the flesh from my mouth in a good way. Love it!

I wanted to write this review to answer the questions I had, in case anyone else had the same questions.1. This is a 2.5L container (not 5L as per the picture on the listing)2. It is non-brewed condiment (aka chip shop style vinegar substitute) NOT malt vinegar such as Sarsons. I mention this because the listing comes under the category "Malt Vinegars" and the description states "Malt vinegar just like you get in the chip shop!". Where I live, the chip shop does NOT use malt vinegar.On the positive side, it is exactly what I was looking for! We struggle to get NBC and our only known vendor is the chip shop - which is closed due to Covid19. I'll be decanting this into a smaller bottle so 2.5l will last for ages. The price is also very reasonable as we were paying £1.50 for a much smaller bottle.Thanks to the seller and the Amazon users who responded to my questions.

Halt the malt, non brewed is best!!!It has a less sharp taste to it and it’s fabulous on pie n mash, or a portion of chips.Would love to see it cheaper in price.

This non brewed vinegar is difficult to get hold of. I always pickle my own onions and red cabbage in preparation for Christmas. They are very much liked by all who have tasted them. Its family tradition to have them Boxing day with the cold meat & mash meal. I need a large quantity of this vinegar so find this an ideal solution.

Tasted like non-brewed condiment which is what I wanted. Good on chips but als useful as a household cleaning product .

Really pleased to be able to buy this as unable to purchase in the shops . In my opinion you can’t beat it on chips .

It smells stronger than it tastes, i like the flavour, but i seem to be using so much on one dish just to taste it, saying that, it still beats most I've tried. But I remember when you could buy chip shop vinegar you had to dilute. Those were the days.
