Worth the money so far
Got this and set it up about a month ago and have not had any internet issues yet! Had been renting the Xfinity gateway which was an extra $14 on my internet plan every month and finally realized that was a ripoff. Plus I always had connection issues - felt like every 1-2 weeks I would lose connection (not ideal for WFH) and have to reboot my modem, but the last few months I had it I had to talk to customer service every time to get it connected/working again... so kind of a pain and pricey! This Arris refurbished modem/router has been absolutely worth it so far (granted it hasn't been long but still), haven't lost connection at all, speed has been fine for me too but haven't done speed tests or anything.

Don’t buy it it works just as bad as Xfinity’ modem.
Very bad, my internet connection continuously disconnect both cable and wifi. If not then the speed would always be below 2 mbps and i only have like 3 devices connected to the internet. If you are suffering to that kind of issue on Xfinity’s modem then listen to me don’t get this. The best option for yall is to buy 2 separate modem and router. For the router i use the asus, and for modem i use Netgear. Hope this will help you finding the best combo.

Disappointed
I didn’t want to rent a modem from Xfinity anymore, so I looked into buying my own. I bought this because it had great reviews, it’s a good brand, and a great value for the price. After just three days, I’m sorely disappointed. The signal keeps going in and out, I’ve had nothing but issues trying to login, and Xfinity had a problem setting it up because of the logos on the front. I’m hoping that after a hard reset it will work better.I didn’t want to rent a modem from Xfinity anymore, so I looked into buying my own. Don't Trust Refurbished!! 5hz Broken and continuously disconnects
My experience with this product is not a good one, but it's too much of a hassle to return and also not bad enough for me to be paying the monthly fee internet providers charge to use their products.Problems:- Disconnects at least once every 2 weeks.I would say it disconnects probably once a week. The fix is simple, just unplug and replug. It's super annoying though when you have a lot of smart plug items in the house and suddenly you can't turn the lights on while you enter the room. If the internet remains disconnect for too long sometimes you might have to reregister with smart home items and that's super annoying.- 5hz doesn't really work. This disconnects real quick. Maybe after a router restart the 5hz network will stay alive for a day or two but then suddenly you can't connect to it at all. You can still connect to the lower one which is what I just settle for until it all disconnects and then I restart everything.Never had this problem with the moden/router the internet provider gave me. Also used my personal modem/router before and never had as much problems as with this one.If I could get my money back I would and just buy new. I think maybe because it was refurbished I'm seeing issues. Maybe the original buyer felt the problems and returned it and Amazon probably ran short tests, it worked, so they sold it refurbished but you have to use it for like a week to experience the annoying disconnects.

Update: 3 to 1 stars
Update: 3 stars to 1 starWould not recommended. Wifi signal goes out multiple times a day without warning. Just keep renting your box from the cable company.—-Very easy to install, the signal seems to be fine and it is compatible with Xfinity. However, twice in the week that I've had the product, I've had to unplug/reboot the device because the wifi isn't working. It's very frustrating because I didn't have this issue with router/modem rented from Xfinity previously.

Solid performer and solid value
My cable company wanted $14/month for a combo modem & WiFi router. Knowing how high that charge was, I found this refurbished unit. The item arrived in brand new condition, set up was a breeze, and it's performed well for the two weeks I've owned it. Time will tell but so far, so good, and so much cheaper than a new version or renting from the cable internet provider.

Did not work with WAVE Broadband
I have WAVE Broadband in WA State. I installed this renewed ARRIS SURFboard (16x4) DOCSIS 3.0 Cable modem/router combo, but it would not connect to the internet. I spent a half hour on the phone with both a WAVE tech and an Arris tech. Tried everything. It would not work. Sent it back.

Gave me 400Mbps speed on Wifi for my 500Mbps plan
I bought 3 different gateways, all from Arris, and after testing each one for a day, this was the one which came out on top. This was the only modem+router combo device which gave me wifi speed nearest to my plan. I have 500Mbps plan and this one gave me around 400Mbps speed on wifi but the other two gave me a max speed of 200Mbps.So, you should definitely buy this if you want the maximum out of your plan.
