Marimekko - King Sheets, Cotton Percale Bedding Set, Crisp & Cool Home Decor (Pikkuinen Unikko Black, King)

Gorgeous sheets! They look just like the photos, and the fit is good. The fitted sheet has elastic all the way around, and both fitted and flat tuck in well. The flat sheet has plenty of length to tuck at the bottom (mattress is 16" thick but even for a thicker one it would be fine). Machine washed and dried nicely with minimal wrinkles. Note that some wrinkles are normal with 100% cotton. I don't mind a few light wrinkles...to me the sheets look comfy. The fabric is lovely. It's percale, so it's not ultra soft like combed cotton or jersey. It's crisp, like getting into freshly-washed sheets every night. Percale feels light and cool, so it's great for warm weather or hot sleepers. I'll update the review if anything changes, but I'm glad I gave these a try!

I only use these sheets because they are so bright and cheery. The main color in my house is black and these sheets give my room a beautiful pop of color. I ordered extra king sheets and had the flat sheets made into window treatments. The sheets are soft, and do not fade. I incorporate with Marimekko black and white sheets. Great quality product and would highly recommend.

Nice cotton that becomes softer with each wash. Love the muted color. The Marimekko design is delights me every time I look at it.

I received the design bed sheets, which I like their design and I’ve bought other products from that same company and designer. But these sheets are very stiff. I have washed it many times and there is a strong paint smell from the silk screening of the pattern on the sheets, and I cannot get rid of it. I’ve watched it five times and it is a strong ink or paint or odor that doesn’t disappear. The sheets are fairly stiff. It needs better material.

As always with Marimekko good design.

Good quality - true colors

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. See the picture. Minutes ago I just took the four king pieces out of what looked like ALMOST perfect packaging. The fitted sheet didn’t look like the ordinary fold; it was more like a round tidy blob. Opened it up, and there’s a 15” rip in middle of the sheet. In that area, the black stripes look more faded than the sides…like it had been previously slept on (little hard to see in the photo). What. The. Heck. And these were far from inexpensive at $92. I’m more than ticked off!

I was expecting a bit of a heavier grade of material. These are quite thin. Love the design, though.

Love Marimekko fabrics and especially this unikko design. Cant go wrong with this choice!

I love these sheets! 100% cotton, made in Finland. The design is pretty and simple. I had the same sheets and duvet in a different colour. for almost 16 years and decided I needed a change of colour. It had only minor signs of wear, and I gave it to a friend. The cotton is comfortable and fits the mattress well. I bought the matching duvet cover to go with the sheets. It is extremely comfortable. I highly recommend. These will last forever if you launder them as directed.

I am a big Marimekko fan and this set did not disappoint. Fabric is of good weight and doesn’t wrinkle easily. Pattern is consistent and colours didn't fade after first wash. I bought the king-size set and the contour sheet fits my 10-inch mattress very well. Pillow covers are roomy and long. I will use the flat sheet for sewing projects, quality is good enough for clothing. Very happy with this purchase, worth the extra money.

Pros: colours are vibrant. Price is very reasonable, about $110 for a King set. Cons: I only checked the flat sheet and already found black spots printed by mistake on two of the red part of the poppies-see photos 1&3. The black spots are printed on and cannot be removed. There were also some bumps on the fabric and the weave is not tight. I didn’t bother to check the fitted sheet as I already decided that they have to go back. I wonder if these sheets are factory seconds because the 2 Marimekko sheet sets I bought before (not from Amazon) are much better quality and prints are perfect with no marks or spots. I may get another set to see whether it will be better quality.
