Victorian Vixens Paper Dolls

Lovely gothic-without-being-punk images and creative stands are the hallmarks of this collection. I found myself wondering what stories the Mr. Menten told himself about these dolls (and their costumes) as he designed and painted them. And I wanted to know more about what inspired each. The simplified and smooth shapes of the dolls and costumes make cut-and-play possible and could inspire a young artist to create additional garments. The use of almost wall-paper-like patterns on the costume fabrics could inspire those same young artists in creative use of decorative papers. Although not as "educational" as some paper dolls, I enjoyed these.

Beautiful clothes and dolls! Love the Gothic details like the absinthe and tombstones. My big problem with the set is all the dolls have brown eyes - boring! I also wish they each had at least one sensible outfit; skulking is messy!

These are really cool. One of the best paperdoll books that I have ordered for my collection lately. Great costumes & accessories are so special. Good quality book.
