Impressive quality and simplicity
Our old Humax Freesat box was failing, so we researched new ones. Out of all of them, including refurbished versions of our old box, this looked best. It had really good reviews and was not too expensive. So I ordered it. Once set up (really very simple) the picture quality on freesat broadcast tv was noticeably better than before. But surprisingly the picture quality on YouTube, ITVX and Netflix is definitely better than on our Amazon FireStick (which I will be selling on ebay later this week as a result). A really impressive piece of kit.

Good picture quality.
Nice and compact unit and easy to set up. Had to wait for an update overnight to enable reminders and would recommend it although it's not cheap. Using the non recordable version. The only con is the size of the remote as it's a tad on the small size. You'll need to use the back of a pencil to accurately type a password in. Otherwise I'm happy with the unit.

Good picture, but slow to start up
I bought this as I have no TV Ariel, but have a satellite dish, so I could have tv in my office. It is quiet, simple to set up. The remote is very directional, and I said in the headline, start up from sleep is very slow, as if the system is doing a total reboot. Not as many channels you can get free on a reconditioned sky box, and rather pricy for a not having a built in flash drive for recordings.

Good product but a pain to set up with new Vodafone modem. Incompatible frequency- old tec and new tec items did not want to talk to each other. Many hours spent with online assistants.

Easy to use
Easy set up and brilliant picture through the sky dish

If you have a old sky satellite dish it works.
Use to have sky hd box ,but sky Tv became to expensive to keep up .so I decided to buy a Freesat box and I am glad I did. This freesat box works with my old dish 2 satellite cables go into box connect to internet and you have all the channels that I used to watch on sky Tv.

Initially was cutting out but a call to Freesat sorted it
This replaced our humax Freesat box which stopped working after 5 years. We have a satellite dish installed 10 years ago and just use Freesat no sky/ virgin etc and just use some streaming services to supplement free TV. We initially found an issue with installation of this box as it kept losing signal even during the setup screens. A call to the Freesat people solved it by trying the second thing they recommended to me. The first was to perform factory reset of the box. The second was to swap over the HDMI socket in use of the TV. This has corrected the issue. The remote works well though we changed it a few days after testing for our universal remote as that is used for our hi-fi system etc too. The picture is excellent as is the sound. The functions are intuitive and there is only one niggle I have which is when it first is switched on, that the screen always takes a time to 'set up satellite dish' whatever that means as it does not move. Our old box and one before was quicker to display the TV signal. But it's not that long a pause.
