Great Book. A Must for anyone planning to travel to East Africa

Very comprehensive with good colour photos for easy identification of the various species.

I bought this as a bird book for our Masai Mara and Serengeti trip. I didn’t want to carry a large bird book. This had about 90-95% of the 110 bird species that we saw and was easy to use. I am a wildlife biologist and birder and was happy with this purchase based on its compact size.

The index was pretty good but sometimes our guide had to help with various names. I recorded each animal we saw with the date and the park.I think it contained pretty well everything we saw.

Excellent wildlife guide. Pictures are really clear. Very easy to find what I'm looking for and it tells you lots of interesting info.

Es gibt weitaus umfangreichere Führer über die Flora und Fauna Ostafrikas, doch sind diese groß und schwer, so dass sie sich für die Mitnahme auf einer Safari nicht eignen. Dieses kompakte Buch kann man problemlos mitnehmen. Zudem verliert man in sehr umfangreichen Werken schnell den Überblick.Ich habe dieses Buch vor allem für die Sortierung meiner Fotos, die ich während einer umfangreichen Reise durch Tansania gemacht habe, verwendet. Dabei habe ich durch dieses Buch nahezu alle Tiere, die ich fotografiert hatte, identifizieren können.Ich werde mir im Falle eines erneuten Besuchs in Ostafrika wahrscheinlich eines der umfangreicheren Bücher besorgen. Für Fotografen, die nur begrenzte Erfahrungen mit der Tierfotografie haben, ist dieses Buch auf jeden Fall eine Bereicherung. Ein deutschsprachiges Werk dieser Qualität habe ich bisher noch nicht gefunden.
