Works for me
This is my 8th SSD drive over the past year. My other drives are Kingston, OCZ, Crucial and Verbatim. I have not had one issue with any of them. Same now goes for this Silicon Power drive. This drive is replacing an old 80GB Maxtor SATA-1 data drive in a server. The system drive is a 64GB Kingston SSD. The box is running Windows 2000 Server. Wear levelling - wonderful, since Windows 2000 doesn't have TRIM support.Installation was pain free - just opened the box, attached power/data cables, powered up and everything was fine. No issues whatsoever.Performance is very good, no complaints.Amazon packing could have been better, but getting this drive for under $100 on Warehouse Deals was worth it.

Dead after 3 months
I bought this drive at the end of November for my PC. While it lasted, it was great.. very fast. I was very happy with the drive. But just couple of days ago, after three months, it just died. The computer froze, and after rebooting, it would not boot up. The drive is not recognized by the BIOS. I will start the diagnosing process, but the main issue i have is getting in touch with Silicon Power customer service or technical support! Their US number listed in their website is NOT a working number! I sent out an email, but no response yet.. I will update this post if anything happens, but just be aware for the time being!Update: Here is a much overdue update. I was finally able to get some response back from the Silicon Power technical support via email. They wanted me to run some obvious diagnostic tests, and when I told them I have done all those and the drive is dead, they wanted me to mail them the drive to Taiwan! So at that point I contacted Amazon customer service, and once I told them the whole story, per usual they were very helpful and send me a replacement at no extra charge, and no shipping and handling charge, and send Amazon back the dead drive. The replacement has been working OK for 6-7 months now.

Es un producto confiable, no tuve problemas con el. Una vez que lo instale funciono como debe. El unico detalle que encuentro es que he visto modelos q viene con adaptadores usb.

SATA2 fits a niche
I had a situation that REQUIRED a SATA2 drive, and it couldn't be SATA3. That's hard to find these days. This drive fit the bill, and was just as advertised. Too bad it costs the same as a (faster) modern SATA3 drive, but I guess it fits a niche still... FYI, if you have an old MacBook Pro with NVIDIA chipset that only negotiates 1.5 gbps link with your SATA3 drive, this SATA2 drive will successfully negotiate 3 gbps with your MacBook Pro. :-)
