These grips will fit a Smith & Wesson model 638-3 Humpback Bodyguard PERFECTLY. You can literally install them in minutes provided you have the correct torx bit (that came with your new 638 purchase) AND the correct small flat blade screwdriver to install these grips. These Grips are very nice looking, checkered walnut, cover the backstrap AND have the 3rd indention for your little pinky also ambi-thumb indentions for lefty or rightie. They are a bit thicker than originals and feel great "to me". I wear a medium size 9 glove. I was hesitant to order some of the others due to complaint's of hard to install and quite a few "returns". Fired off a cylinder full today and I'm a happy camper. I will carry in a clinger holster or fanny pack. Also carries well in back pocket of Levi jeans.

First off, I pinky promise I am a real human, I rarely review products but I really like these grips. They fit my hand well and they are very nice looking, really give my Smith and Wesson 638 a nice classic look. Some info for those that might be wondering: -This is a ‘combat’ or full-length grip, meant to accommodate your pinky. Great if that’s what you’re looking for, but it does make the gun a bit longer in the back -the bottom of this grip is a little thicker, which I like but some might find it uncomfortable to wear. Overall I would definitely recommend these grips.

I have a S&W 642-1 .38spl +p revoler. The grips that came with this where small and uncomfortable to use. These grips however are not only beautiful and extremely easy to install but are extremely comfortable to use. Full hand including your pinky as well as giving a much better angle/purchase for firing/target acquisition 2yrds-25yrds perfectly. I highly recommend this.

Fits my SW642 perfect the reason i gave it 4 stars its a little to thick behind the cylinder which prevents one cartrige from falling out when reloading to load you have to use speed strips , speed loaders will not work fit and finish is fine

These handles provide much more stability than the originals on my S & W 642. The picture accurately depicts the beautiful rosewood color, too. I went ahead and bought the higher priced handles with the logo, and I'm glad I did. I won't "wish I'd gotten the better one" later. I'm very pleased with the quality, the fit, the look, and the feel of these handles. I recommend them highly.

I just received these today. Installation on my S&W 642-2 PCE was very easy and the grips fit perfectly. In terms of feel in the hand they are a big improvement over the stock grips, and there is enough room for my pinky finger. The look is very nice and the craftsmanship is excellent. I'm looking forward to trying them on the range this weekend.

Nothing is worse than rubber grips on a pistol. They do nothing but snag on cover garments or in pockets. When I was shopping around for replacement grips for my S&W 642, I was drawn to these mainly because of their appearance in addition to the no-snag nature of wood. They're polished and sophisticated looking, but also have great stippling built into the pattern that aids in grip retention. It also retains the two-finger grip, which keeps it compact and concealable; all the features that you purchased your J-frame for in the first place. Most importantly, this grip set is dimensionally indiscernible from the stock grips, meaning it doesn't interfere with any of the functions of the revolver like cylinder release or use of speed strips/loaders. Would definitely purchase this again for another revolver. I haven't observed any cracking or breaking. Sweat and skin oils haven't seemed to have an affect on the finish or the wood, these are AWESOME! I have them on all six of my .38 specials now.

These grips are well done in terms of fit on the gun and superb feel to the hand but the colors are much darker, some almost black, not the bright rosewood grain illustrated in the product listing. I bought the first pair and returned it, the replacement was bright and brilliant color. Bought a second pair because they fit so good, the color is right on the borderline of returning because of too dark. This third pair had been opened and repacked, there are cuts on the cellophane packing and torn label showing it had been sold and opened, obviously someone else was unhappy with the color too.
