Marvel Comics: The Variant Covers

Not a variant comic cover fan when it comes to buying them but this book was truly awesome, just looked at as an art collection of amazing art with stacks of artists such as Alex Ross, Stanley Artgerm Lau and many others. Over 400 amazing covers in this thick hardback volume with quality paper and this is an impressive work. Really glad I did decide to pick this book up (it is hefty). I am certain many covers are not included and this probably could have a volume 2 ... this is definitely totally recommended.

Ein Thema, das unheimlich viel hergibt... wenn man es entsprechend bearbeitet. Hier aber: Man erfährt nicht wirklich viel über die Variant Cover Industrie... von 1:10, 1:25, 1:50, Con Variants usw. ist nicht einmal die Rede. Dann werden einige thematische Bereiche angerissen, aber nie vollständig bearbeitet, zB werden bei "Women of Marvel" einige, aber nicht alle Cover abgebildet. Da hätte ich mir mehr gewünscht, auch eine Auflistung früherer Variants (Mark Jeweler's oder Golden Record o.Ä.). So kommen halt irgendwelche Variants vor, die als reine Aufzählung weder einen Hauch von Vollständigkeit haben noch sonst irgendwie keinen Sinn ergeben.Das Buch an sich ist richtig großformatig, guter Druck. Nur halt vollkommen unnötig. Leider.

Tratta un argomento non molto noto ed è esaustivo e carino per chi vuole capire e vedere il panorama delle variant cover marvel.
