Book #5, Bad Boy Alphas series. Renee Rose and Lee Savino have created magic once again!
Driven by her past, Dr. Layne Zhao's a PhD at the age of 25, working in a state-of-the-art genetics lab, trying to cure the disease that killed her mother. What could be more compelling? But is anything truly as it appears? She remains oblivious to the danger surrounding her. The over-the-top security, her predator-like boss, the strange and unannounced visitors to her lab with armed bodyguards would make anyone anxious. But Layne's focused on her research to the exclusion of all else. Little does she know what lies ahead. When Sam Smith breaks into her lab, she assumes he's just another security guard. But we all know where assumptions take us. As Sam steals her research, destroys her lab, and kidnaps her in an effort to save her, Layne's paralyzed with shock and fear. When she learns of Sam's past, the terrors to which he's been subjected, what he really is, and what drives him toward self-destruction, she's blindsided with disbelief and fear. As she tries to understand the man behind the wolf shifter who frightens her so, she also starts to see her own true self for the first time. As their enemies move closer and closer, Sam and Layne have decisions to make. Can they trust each other? Assault, kidnapping, and threatening to blow up Layne's lab certainly haven’t instilled her faith in Sam. Layne's multiple attempts to escape and betray Sam don't quite let him trust her either. But they share a common foe. And while Layne and Sam's attraction can only end up in disaster for both, it's magnetic, pulling them inexorably together. Is it possible that a damaged and broken werewolf and a genius research scientist can find anything in common? What, if anything, can they do to save not only themselves but others in grave danger? When their plans go very far awry, is it even possible they can survive? Can anyone help? Will they? Or will Layne and Sam have to stand on their own to face down the most harrowing, horrific enemy that anyone could conceive?Renee Rose and Lee Savino have again teamed up to write an extraordinary paranormal novel. They truly are a dynamic duo! The books in this series just keep getting better and better. These two have the ability to take the mythical and transform it into a believable story. Layne and Sam are so unique. Layne's distrust of Sam, her feistiness, her absolute dedication to her research to the exclusion of all else, including her inability to face reality and the dangers facing her, make her vulnerable, yet still strong, relatable in so very many ways. Sam believes he's truly broken beyond repair. He lives to right the wrongs of his past. His focus is on vengeance. These two are complete opposites. Yet somehow they connect on a visceral level. Trust and belief shouldn't be possible. Layne feels betrayed in so many ways. Sam needs focus. The very real challenges each faces are what pulls you into the story from the first page. This book is truly a rollercoaster ride of challenges and uncertainty. There's pain, betrayal, reconciliation, and humanity inherent in both Layne and Sam. The emotions run the gamut from doubt, bafflement, panic, and double-dealing to belief, wonder, acceptance, and eventual trust. There's also the encompassing love and support of family, friends, and pack without which the story would be incomplete. Ms. Rose and Ms. Savino have woven a compelling tapestry that captivates and enthralls from the first to the last page. This story is fantastic! I can't give it anything less than five stars. Congratulations, Renee Rose and Lee Savino! You've done it again! One final note. Please be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. Think hard before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the authors. They work extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice. Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

JUSTICE—RESCUE—REVENGE
The fifth story in the Bad Boy Alpha series will read well as a stand-alone but even better with the other stories in this series. It will have key people from the previous stories, as well as, a continuing saga in the storyline. We met Sam in the first book with Jackson and Kylie. Sam was stuck in wolf form, and Jackson rescued him and forced him to shift, and he lives on Jackson’s compound. We will meet a young female scientist, Dr. Layne Zhao who works for Data-X analyzing cell samples.Dr. Layne Zhao’s life is spent in a lab with her research. She has no personal life, no dating, her only goal is to make a difference. She is dealing with a deadly disease, Barrington, that took her mother’s life, and is already affecting hers. She is thrilled with her position at Data-X and feels like she has made an amazing breakthrough in her research. What she isn’t comfortable with is her boss, Smyth, and now another man, Santiago, that he brings into the lab.Sam is a lone wolf on a mission, to destroy Data-X and to find Smyth. What a surprise to go into Data-X to retrieve data and the plan his to destroy the building like he did one other lab. What he wasn’t expecting was to come upon Layne. He can’t leave her and take down the building, and he can let her sound an alarm, so he must take her with him.The story takes the reader on a suicide mission into Data-X laboratories, and while it appears he is taking Layne, hostage, he is, in fact, saving her. The adventure is life and death in more ways than one. Getting them away under gunfire, and going into hiding will come with plenty of angst. Dealing with an angry and scared female will have Sam exerting his dominance. Why is his wolf calling for him to mate her? He can’t take a mate, especially not a human. When she tries to escape him, he will have to show her how he will handle her disobedience.“In a wolves’ world, disobedience is met with punishment.”The story will bring in many other shifters, some who have also been used and abused in research by Smyth at one of his labs. Opening up to Layne as to the abuse and torture they endured will have her seeing her research is being abused and not for what she believed its purpose was.“Illegal harvesting. He takes people captive and forces them into his experiments. That’s what Project Alpha is.”The clock is ticking, and it comes down to Sam being there for Layne or seeking his revenge against Smyth. There is a very good chance he won’t survive this mission and waiting for backup isn’t in his plan, this is going down with only him and Nash, a lion shifter, against Smyth. Will Sam and Nash succeed in their mission and come out alive and what will happen to Layne? There just might be some surprises in the works! You must read it to find out.The story has several scenes full of angst, sexual tension, spankings, and explicit sex scenes. I look forward to the more books in this series, Alpha’s Passion in April and Alpha’s War in May.

Awesome Read
I loved that Sam got to get his match and after so much heartache he got the answer he was looking for, might not be what he want but it was answers.

Deadly Revenge
In keeping with the overall theme of this series, Sam seeks to kill the person who ruined his life. I liked the fact that this tale was more about finding love and healing. The suspense and intrigue are still a big draw to this dangerous storyline. I keep getting pulled in and wanting for more. 😊

Life
I applaud both Renee and Lee for bringing the autoimmune diseases up in this story. As an autoimmune suffer, I want to thank you for mentioning the autoimmune world. This storyline is awesome. Sam and his mate find the world of each other at a trying time. With little time left to explore each other the couple finds life again.

Good read
OK. SPOILER ALERT!!! Give the girl a terminal illness in a paranormal romance and of course something is going to happen to cure her. I knew it the moment Layne said she had the same deadly disease as her mother. So other than this predictable plot (possibility of both dying, but then they wouldn't be the main characters) the story is logical and the flawed, but likeable characters help keep the reader interested in what happens next.I like Nash and can't wait to read his and Denali's story

Obsessed
So pleased Sam got his own story after first meeting him in Alphas Temptation. He was definitely a prickly character who found it hard to trust and had, had a rough start in life. His life revolved around revenge until he meets Layne who makes him see life differently.

Another excellent addition to the series
These stories are fast paced and easy to read. There is an underlying theme that links them all which adds a bit of depth with the horror of the research facilities Tec but on the whole they are a fun read with a bit of spice.
