This is an expensive paper weight. Modems are used not new. Cannot be re-registered.
Item we received was used. Cannot register it due to it being registered to original owner. Looking forward to how the seller resolves this. Will provide updates if possible. Functionality: Lights will blink. Local webpage can be accessed. Connectivity: None. Item is used. Value for money: Should have dug up a rock instead of buying this paper weight. Please don't waste other consumers time with this.

Finally a router that works!
I have been buying cheaper 4G and 5G routers that claim CAT12 CAT16 but they could not match the speed of my faulty Netgear MR1100 (CAT16) router. The Netgear router was getting too hot and would shutdown or slow down. This router is in the same environment and constantly gets speeds of 170Mbps down and 35Mbps upload It was the highest cost but appears to just work and reliably works. I have seen speeds of 237Mbps down and 55Mbps upload. I tried all the other cheaper CAT12 options on Amazon and either the speeds never reached what I was used to or it quit working after a firmware update or didn't work out of the box even after I manual set APN for AT&T.

Best external modem for firstnet
It's honestly between these units or cradlepoints and less face it, cradlepoint units are just too expensive for what they give. This is a solid little unit and runs cool. It's still expensive, but oh well!

Do not buy
1. can't login, even after many factory resets and 1 hour with technical support 2. per Semtec (owner of Sierra Wireless) product is out of warranty as of December 31, 2025 3. to upgrade firmware (in hopes of logging in) they want $400 No thanks. I'll return this and get something better for my money.
