Great for swaddling but not great after
I used the Tommee Tippee bags religiously for my baby until she was about 7 months old. I loved that they have the healthy hip shape and allowed my baby to have her legs in the natural froggy position. I also liked that there was a second zip to open up at the bottom which does make nappy changing easier. The swaddle function was also a big plus as I found my baby slept best when swaddled but would wriggle out of a blanket so the bag did work a treat.I have a few issues some which I realise now that I am using a different brand bag. Firstly they are so small made! Like so small. I know they are meant to be tight but they were getting hard to zip up on my baby waaaaay before the age limit was being reached. My baby is slightly bigger than average but not much. By 2 months she had grown out of the 0-4 months, by 5 months she had grown out of the 3-9 months and the 6-18 months was getting pretty tight when I stopped using them at 7 months, she's now 9 months and I doubt I could get her in it without worrying I was restricting her breathing.Secondly the zip coming around to the front, this creates two issues. My baby used to chew on the zip because she was teething and also thats what babies do this would result in the bag getting soaked. It was worse on the lighter togs as it would just go right through and need changed all the time. I also later realised that this is a potential choking hazard, it's not impossible that the zip won't break or come loose during the night while being chewed.I've now changed over to using Snuz bags. Much better for size and great for nappy changing. I would say the Tommee Tippee bag is great up until baby is no longer swaddling then I would recommend switching to a different bag with better fit and zip at the side.

A must have item for little wrigglers
My baby used to kick his legs ( removing the blanket) and wave his arms, knocking his dummy out which upset him. Now, on the first time using this wonder sleep bag, he fell asleep , literally 5 seconds after placing him in his cot! I now have peace of mind that he will stay warm and snug even when he’s flailing around. Nappy changes are so much easier, I change him in his cot without even picking him up, last night, he stayed in a half sleep while I changed him and went back to full sleep straight away (with a little help of Ewan the dream sheep)I will buy the lighter version too soon.Shame they don’t come in bigger sizes.

Updated… So far so good - ok but small
Having read good and bad reviews I was a little skeptical before buying. At the time my son was 59cm and 12lb 2oz even though he was only 8 weeks old. I therefore decided to order the larger 3-9 month bag, so we can get the most use out of it, which starts at 12lb. He has a large head, over the 90th centile so I was confident his head wouldn’t slip down. The reason I decided to go for these bags is my boy likes to be swaddled when he sleeps and still has a strong startle reflex but is getting too long for traditional swaddling with the lovely muslins I have. The bag itself is a nice neutral grey colour, it’s soft and fairly stretchy. The double zip feature is handy for nappy changes. When I 1st tried it on him it seemed massive and he wouldn’t settle but after washing it, only in a standard 30° wash and air drying it, it seems to be a more snug fit in the space of 5 days. He’s having his 1st nap now in it and seems very happy. I’m not sure how long it’ll last.Update 4 months later …My son is now almost 6 months and can still just about fit into this sleeping bag. I bought 2 in the end. They have continued to wash well, have remained soft but are always a bit snug when you first put them on after washing (like a pair of jeans). The swaddling function didn’t last very long, it’s not tight enough, especially if they’re used to a tight muslin swaddle. The arm holes are a nice size and have never felt too small or too big. He is now 70cm and 9kg (a big boy) and won’t be able to fit in them for much longer. I have found the size guide a little confusing, as according to the average 50th centile … a 9 month old baby boy would weigh 8.8kg and be 72cm long. Therefore this bag would never fit for the length of time tommee tippee advertise even for an average size boy, (I appreciate my boy is larger).I would still recommend them but be wary of the size guide, don’t just go by age and don’t get your hopes up on the swaddling helping your baby to sleep.

My first sleep bag - love it!
This was the first sleep bag I tried and I couldn’t get on with it, nor could my son at first but we persisted and it’s such a great swaddle for his forever fidgety arms. We got this when he was 1 month old and he’s now 4 months and it’s become part of our bedtime routine. It’s soft material and easy to use. There’s plenty of leg room. My only complaint would be that I bought another one of these I. The same size and it would seem after a few washes this one has shrunk in comparison to the new one. It still works just as well but the leg room has decreased quite a bit but it may be due to my error putting it on a hot wash? There’s not much stretch to it so can’t stretch it back to normal size. I’m still really happy with the product regardless, and it’s the only way to get my baby to sleep now!
