I ordered this pair along with 2 other pairs , of ladies dancing shoes in the same brand, Using the try before you buy option. they have an excellent reputation. The Mrs. Picked this pair and I returned the other 2.This pair had better arch support and better toe ferl for her. We are old people taking our first dancing lessons so o wanted something nice and supportive. Wish us luck!I really like the try before you buy option!

I ordered two pairs of these for two separate musicals (one required black, the other nude). They hold up alright, but they scratch fairly easy. The fabric on the top of the sole literally came up the first time I wore them. It's not a huge issue but it's kind of annoying. I would advise sizing down half a size. I am usually a 10 and I ordered that first, however since it is elastic and flexible around the ball of the foot, the shoe would sometimes bow out in the middle if I stepped a certain way. I ordered a 9.5 the second time around and it wasn't nearly as bad.

I am a beginning dancer about to start a musical theatre conservatory. I needed a pair of character shoes to wear for shows and dance class. I have previously only worn character shoes without elastic, like the Capezio Manhattans. I wasn’t a big fan of those because they felt slippery and clunky.I was a little scared to purchase these because some reviewers said they felt unsafe and unstable and didn't recommend them for those who are not advanced dancers. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived, as they don’t feel unstable at all IMO. I immediately ran around my house in them and felt secure the whole time. I also really like the suede bottoms.I wear a street shoe size 7.5 and have a normal width foot with a narrow heel. I ordered an 8, which fits well. The only thing I don’t like is that the ankle strap is comically long. I have to tighten it to the tightest hole to fit my ankles, but then the strap sticks way out and looks a little ridiculous. I’m considering cutting it off but I don’t want to ruin the shoes. Decisions, decisions.

I have a skinny heel. Bloch dance shoes fit me just fine. It's a good quality shoe

I am editing this review - formerly a one-star review entitled "Broke after 3 months :-("Because the shoes were out of the 1-month return window, I contacted Bloch, who emailed me initially to contact the seller, so I tried again with Amazon, and within 30 minutes (!) heard back from a representative that they would exchange the defective shoes at no charge! That is some awesome customer service! Then yesterday, I received a follow-up phone call from Bloch, apologizing for the earlier email and offering to assist in an exchange of the defective shoes - more great (and personal!) service from the Manufacturer. We are scheduled to receive the replacement shoes today - and I am hopeful that the pair we initially received was just a random defective pair. I am thrilled, however with how both Amazon and Bloch handled this issue, even though it did take a few days. I remain a very satisfied customer!Previous review FYI:I bought these for my teen daughter who needed character heels for a dance/theater performance she was in. She absolutely loved the range of movement allowed by the split soles, felt that they fit well and were very cute - I loved that they seemed like a more reasonable-priced version of LaDuca's, and because of this, we also bought a pair in beige for an additional performance, and she switched off wearing both pairs to even out the use. She only wore them indoors for rehearsals/classes, and they are in very-good condition. Unfortunately, the strap broke off these today while she was in rehearsal and it is beyond the 1-month of Amz return policy. I have written Bloch and if I hear back, I'll report. Because of all the great reviews, I think this might be an unusual circumstance, the beige ones are still in good shape...I bought those two months ago, so we'll see...

I am a theatre major, these shows and beautiful and amazing for pointed toes, HOWEVER, they are incredibly hard to break in and are very uncomfortable after dancing in them for 4 hours. MY FEET ARE BURNING. PLEASE HELP. DONT GET THESE SHOES GET MORE SUPPORTIVE ONES

My daughter is using these for a high school musical. They are darling on her and required very little "breaking in" to become comfortable. The size is the same as her regular shoe size, which is nice. Durability remains to be seen, but she has been dancing in them for a couple of weeks now and they still look like new. These can't be worn outside, as they have a suede-like sole made for a stage. I highly recommend these.

*EDIT*After wearing these shoes to one rehearsal, I found I really should have gone up a whole size. While I had plenty of room in the width, my toes were just too close to the ends and hurt after wearing for a short time. So...I exchanged them (thanks to Amazon's awesome return policy!) for a 9 1/2. They should arrive Tuesday and I'm eager to see if they work. I really want them to, because they are so pretty! To be continued... :)So far so good! I wear an 8.5 in most shoes and I sized up to a 9. I’m wearing them around my house to break them in. I am not a professional dancer but I perform in musical theater. These are great for simple character shoes and moderate dancing. The heel is not extremely stable, so if you’re a professional dancer with lots of moves, these may not be the shoe for you. Only giving 4 stars because I was hoping the leather would be more supple. They could loosen up after wearing. Nice heel height, and they look nice on the foot. The color is a great neutral tan. Soft footbed that molds to the foot. My first pair of Bloch heels and the split sole is new to me as well. Can’t wait to give them a run on the stage soon!

I purchased a number of these shoes for a stage production and had to send them back because the sizes wouldn't fit any of my dancers, even when we went up two sizes they still wouldn't fit. I won't be buying these again.

CONSTRUCTION: Beautifully crafted shoes. As a drag performer I was looking for dance shoes that would provide support and withstand the weight of a man on OCCASIONAL use (i.e., I don't intend to dance in heels 3+ hours/day, 5 days a week). I wore these around the house to break them in, and I am confident they will more than do the job!FIT/SIZING: True to size. My feet are 10 1/2" long and are medium in width. Naturally I would take to a women's size 11 (although I could fit in 10s, as well, if I am sacrificing comfort for style and availability). For online purchases I highly recommend measuring your feet in inches/CMs and getting the next size UP that is appropriate for your bigger foot's measurement. This specific style FITS LIKE A GLOVE which is exactly what I want. (I do not like the feeling of "extra wiggle room" in my shoes when I'm doing high kicks and splits.)STYLE: I thought I wasn't going to like the T-strap, BUT I ended up LOVING it because it provides that extra security that I want. The split sole also allows me to comfortably do my toe points. It does not have any decorative top-stitching or cut-outs which makes it versatile for a wide range of stage use (e.g., ballroom, Broadway, show choir).PACKAGING: I appreciate that the shoes come with plastic forms, so they maintain their shape with storage and travel. They also come with a travel bag!

They’re perfect! I I wear a size 8 US street shoe. But I’ve been a dancer all my life and now my feet require a wider shoe, so I ordered a half size up and they fit beautifully. I was concerned about the suede Sol on stage but they are not slippery at all. Very fine product.

Not too tight in the toes, just right. I'm a street sz 8 and ordered an 8. Looking forward to breaking them in!

These were exactly what we needed for our show. They fit well and I was able to dye them to match the costume.
