Regency Era Fashion Plates: 1800-1819

Highly recommend!! Page after page of color plates some of them with original descriptions, I wish other eras were available!

I'm not sure but it seems as if a little to much colour disappeared with the efforts I suppose were made to Photoshop or otherwise make these reproductions not appear as yellow as I suspect the originals had become through ageing. Other than this the pictures are lovely

It is nice to have these fashion plates in one place, but it almost feels as if the book is poorly printed as about half of them, the ink is so light it Is hard to see them

Regency Era Fashion Plates is a great go to reference for research and costumers. It was worth the investment.

This book was just what I wanted. The fashion plates are a good size and the details show up well.You have to remember that these are copies of drawings, they are not photographs of models.There are so many different looks and styles that I have already picked out 4 outfits I want to make.

there are quite a few duplicate plates in this book. The images are overblown an dcan appear pixalated. You'd be better off to go onto pinterest or google images and download and print your own off and store in a binder by date. Which is what I will be doing next. I appreciate that someone took the effort to make a book of this kind, but it just seemed like a home crafted book instead of a professionally published one.

This compilation of fashion plates from the early 19th century includes many that I have not seen before, either in published collections or on-line. The book would have been a little more useful, though, with some written material accompanying the plates. I recommend it to anyone who is studying early 19th century fashion. It can serve as a good source of inspiration for those creating their own re-created fashions of the era.
