A glitchy, defective mess of a DVD release
I adore forgotten films of the 60s, 70s and 80s with big name Hollywood stars of the time and Clay Pigeon fits the bill perfectly. An independently produced film that was picked up for distribution by MGM had some heavy hitters, including Robert Vaugn and Telly Savallas. Due to it being independently produced, the film fell into obscurity never receiving a VHS release in the United States so I became excited when MVD announced a DVD release of the film. I for one have been impressed with their releases so far (under the MVD rewind line) so I happily ordered for the low price of $9.99.When I started watching it was evident why they only gave a film a bare bones DVD release as opposed to the deluxe MVD rewind collection. The transfer full screen and soft, mostly likely taken from a 1" master tape source. This doesn't bother me at all, especially for such a rare film. It was watchable and beat the hell out of importing a foreign VHS tape. The problem however is the DVD is glitch and a defective mess. During the opening credits, the screen went black and the sound dropped out which I found odd. I could live with that defect as it was during the opening credits. I finally threw in the towel with when it did it twice around the half hour mark, right during important dialogue. It's obvious MVD did no quality control with this title and I doubt anyone watched the tests discs from the pressing plant as they would have caught these defects. It may be a rare film for film collectors, but it's not even worth the low $9.99 price tag due to the glitches. Perhaps MVD will correct the issues but I doubt it as it is not a highly sought after title.

If Denis Leary and Bob Ross had a love child= Tom Stern
Man I've been waiting 50 years to see this movie again, I was 12 years old when it came out, and I still remember the hot chicks and the racer dune buggy, especially the scene where the cop truck rolls down the hill, I think I'm more amazed now then I was then. This movie is a time capsule, that's exactly how I remember the 70's, my oldest sister was 22 when this came out and a 21 dealer in Reno, I would hang with her all the time and just watch her and her crazy friends, matter of fact we talked about this movie as we floated on innertubes down the Truckee River with the whole Harrah's casino swing shift, smoking weed and being cool.....
