Bought this for our Czech-German Shepherd. He is a strong, vigorous dog, and an aggressive chewer. He destroys rawhides in under an hour, shreds Kongs, ruins hard plastic toys advertised for heavy chompers within minutes. I was very skeptical about the durability, especially as this is pricey. We had to try something other than rawhides as we're working through food allergy issues, so no pork, beef, chicken or byproducts. We have given this to him three times, under supervision, for about two hours each. He's taken about an inch, about half way around the wide end, off. We left it with him all day yesterday (9 1/2 hours) while we were gone. Not too much more gone off of it. This has worked very well for us. We're pleased.

I have a 70lb pitbull mix that was seemingly able to chew through ANYTHING in no time at all. After continually spending money on toys that lasted only minutes (or at best, a day) I came across this. After hundreds (maybe thousands?) of dollars wasted over the years, I admit I was skeptical of this and assumed it would be added to the toy graveyard within hours. But boy was I wrong. This toy lasts my dog for MONTHS, even with constant chewing. He prefers it over all of his other toys, and it’s the only one I’ve found to last. I have to keep several at my house at a time due to how much he loves it, and the fact that his dog friends would all fight him for it when they came over when we had only one. Highly recommend!

My two Australian Shepherds love, love, LOVE horns to chew on. I had gotten some small ones but they tore through them in a week or two so I thought I'd get this XL size. Let me tell you - it's huge!! Seriously the thing is almost a foot long. My pups still love it, so no problem, but I was surprised by the size. The only reason I gave it four stars is because of the smell. I had read a review that said these don't smell, but that is not true at all. These definitely have that cow/bull smell to them... it kind of smells like a ranch. Makes sense, right? It's from real animals, so I guess that's not a problem but definitely takes some getting used to and is not my favorite. I let my pups on my furniture, but definitely not with these.

I wish they hadn't sold out of these as soon as we bought one, it's hard to find chew items that are large enough for our dane corso's face. The dogs have been actively chewing on it daily for two months and it's going strong. When they get into a long chewing jag, the room does smell light slightly off beef soup, but that's because this is a natural product, and that's what water buffalo parts are going to smell like when you get them wet and warm.

If your dog is a strong chewers skip these and get deer antlers. I have a 98 lbs boxer who can chew through most toys. I was looking for more natural chew toy and had tried deer antlers and those were fantastic. I figured I would give these a try being a horn I thought it might be similar to the antler and they are about half the price. Well the horn lasted all of an hour before he broke pieces off which were actually sharp chunks which I am glad I was able to get from him before he swallowed them. The deer antlers never break off into dangerous pieces like these did. These also smell terrible once the dog chews on them unlike the antlers that don't have an odor. So if you have a dog that is a strong chewer skip these and the possible vet bills.

Seriously HUGE! They're not kidding when they list this item as Massive XXL Horn. Loving that it has no scent to it, doesn't shed off anything when it's chewed like some items do, and doesn't stain anything either. She's been chewing it like crazy and it's been holding up well too! Great price for the product.

Do NOT buy for heavy chewers! I bought this as a replacement for another brand my dog had accidentally peed on. With in 24 hours, the tip was chewed off. Less than a week, it’s splintered and in the trash. Very disappointed. Oh, and the smell - it smells like poop! Will NOT buy again or recommend.

The horn was thinner than expected and started to flake apart after a few minutes of use. The size was perfect but once the horn started ripping and flaking apart it was a health concern and no longer used. Previous horns did not do this and were much more durable and lasted for months. Would not buy again due to poor quality.
