D’Addario Woodwinds Rico Neck Saver, Alto Saxophone - RNSASX01

I bought this to clean and dry the neck of my alto sax as I was having problems getting regular cleaning swabs stuck in the neck. (They really only run through one way but I can't always remember which way is the right direction.)I also discovered I love to use this to swab out my flute. Nicer than putting a small cloth on the end of the tuning rod. It fits the nicely and drys the head joint well. Obviously, it wouldn't clean the main section of the flute but I often play for just a short time and it does dry the top three or four inches.

For price it does the job. I use it all the time after I use swab but it can be used by it self.

The fibers are thinly spread, not as thick as I expected. The color advertised on Amazon was either yellow or blue which I like for a change. But when I received it, it was the same old boring black & white :-DLet's see how it works before the final rating. :D

Works just as described, allows me to reach all parts of the inside of the neck. It will slightly bend with the curve in the neck, but could use a little more pliability. I typically make one pass at each end of the neck. I am using this on a Yamaha 62 Alto.

You would think, considering the simplicity of this product, that it wouldn’t be difficult to make a good one. However, the last brand I bought started to come apart after only a few months. This one works great and does exactly what it’s supposed to do!

When I first received my Rico neck saver, it went into the Sax neck so easily, I thought it was really great and a super improvement over the last neck saver I bought that was difficult to get through the curve. However, the one big problem with this Rico neck saver is the little black tips at both ends fall off quite easily. So when you try to pull it out, only the tip comes out. Then you have to put it back in and try to get the neck saver out by the fuzzy part. Really poor quality, Rico. Really bad.

Sticking it into the goose neck can be a little hard but you’ll be fine!! Cleans it great! Gets the work done!!

Am using it primarily as a mouthpiece cleaner. I works well for that purpose.

El producto que me entregaron no es el que anuncian. Me entregaron una escobilla de tudel más delgado y una de las puntas de protección ya se le cayó, hace su función pero no es el mejor producto.

This works well on my sax, does the job easily and well, recommend.

アルト用を先に購入し、マウスピース用もと思ったのですが、Amazonではマウスピース用は12個セットしかなかったので、代用のつもりでテナー用を購入。休憩の時にサッと使えて便利ですが、スワブと比べて片付ける時に拭かないと毛先がベタベタして気持ち良いものではありません。私はオゾン水で消臭・除菌をしていますが、衛生面でどうかなって思います。写真のようにアルトよりテナーの方が長くて、少し太いです。曲げるとスムーズにネックに入っていきます。
