Grit Trap Wash Bucket Insert and Microfiber Chenille Wash Mitt Kit

Mitt is soft and the guard doesn’t fit snug but still gets the job done.

I purchased 2 of these and 2 Home Depot 5 gallon buckets for ~$3 and couldn’t be happier with my 2 bucket set up for car washes. The grit insert does NOT fit snugly in the bottom of the HD bucket but does not float either. That’s fine with me but if you want a snug fit, you can just take the grit insert to a hardware store and test it out. The grit insert has a “5 finger” design to easily remove and it does the job keeping dirt away from your car. I saved a ton of $ with this setup and am very happy!

I was a bit “nervous” about this purchase thinking I’d waste 14 bucks on something that didn’t fit my bucket. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the perfect fit. The mitt seems pretty good quality too. I looked at a lot of options on this site thinking I should just buy a complete wash bucket with grit guard package. But honestly the combos are astronomically priced in my opinion. This seemed to be a good gamble and it paid off!

Bigger than expected so need a large base bucket

Wash mitt seems ok, however the insert is too large for a couple of my buckets and doesn't sit at the bottom.
