Montana Electric Fireplace Stove TV Stand - 58"x24" - Dark Oak Finish

While not the best with tools, I've put many pieces together successfully in the past. This has to be one of the most frustrating ones I've ever tried, though. By the time I got this "together," I was cursing myself for even buying it. It's difficult at best and I think it could have been engineered to be much simpler. While brand new, it scratched easily during trying to assemble it (on a clean floor with a blanket down for protection)... wish they had a much easier option for the Montana fireplace - I'm already looking to see if I can't find something to make it work much better.On the plus side, the fireplace insert is really nice...Several points on this particular piece to illustrate:1. It's difficult to put together2. The instructions are ONLY ava. via a text link sent you your phone. A phone is not really the best viewing platform and the instructions aren't that easy to follow.3. If you get the fireplace insert, it is nice as stated above - that's why I bought it, the flames seem more realistic than others and the wood looks like wood, not burning beef jerky. But be sure to install it to two pieces BEFORE you put the whole thing together (unless you're an alien with extremely long, skinny appendages, you're not going to get the tiny screws in to where your'e supposed to screw them in).4. The pieces are not cut very well and the cam bolts don't work all that well. Either the machine tools at the factory in China aren't tuned well or perhaps the specs are incorrect)Really, I wish I'd just bought a fireplace that looks like a wood stove and doesn't require assembly at this point...So, some suggestions:1. Put the instruction manual somewhere easily accessible in PDF form2. Instead of the video, images would work better that clear show where each part goes, which way it should go, etc.3. Maybe find a new partner to engineer something far easier to put together and that is cut correctly so the pieces actually go together. And maybe not scratch so easily as well...

Where do I begin.? First- when I placed the order, the confirmation said that I had to 'sign' for it. I waited at home, to make sure I would be available when it was delivered. Happily, I didn't have to wait all day but, I also didn't have to sign anything. Second- you have to go online to get the instructions. The instructions aren't too clear to understand so my husband had to disassemble and reassemble it 3 times because the panels are not clearly marked. Third- it has a slight odor that will funk up the whole house. My husband said it wasn't a bad smell to him, but it is to me. I don't know what it smells like, maybe wood-I don't know, all I know is that it smells up the house. I have to open the windows to let it air out. Fourth- there are no openings in the back of it to put your electrical equipment in the cabinets,( cable box, DVD player, roku), so we left some of the screws out of the back to slide the cords in. Which was a pain in the but. The finished product turned out to be very nice, but it smells!!

So, when I received my order, I took it out of the box and tested it out and found that the display would not work at all. I had to send it back and amazon started a replacement immediately. The second one worked like a charm, the lights, display, and controls worked as they should. I haven't used the app yet, so we shall see it its any good. The other complaint I have about this unit is that the frame that holds the glass on the front was not square with the body of the heater. This caused the unit to not fit properly in the cabinet it was built for. Luckily, it was an easy fix. I just removed the screws from one side and squared it up, drilled new holes for the screws to mount in and it was all done.

I have assembled many furniture items such as this over the years. IKEA stuff is very similar. These are by far the worst instructions I have used. To have the only option of viewing the instructions on a cell phone is foolish. Just print out a decent copy with more detail. Once together the unit does look good although it is not very stable. Since it will be in the home of an 80 year old it should be fine. I have put cheaper pieces together from IKEA that were far more sturdy than this one.My Mom seems happy with it so I will let it ride. If it was for me, I would probably be opting to send it back somehow.

Received unit today and although the physical unit was easy to install, my package did not have a user manual or any additional instructions on connecting to an app.

The heater is outstanding. The phone app will not update the current temperature, so the thermostat does not seem that effective. You have to turn the heater off/on within the app so the current temperature can update. Would love to "set it and forget it", but I can't. The room seems ether a little cold, or overheated.

Heat output is excellent!!! Purchased to replace a similar model that just didn’t meet our expectations. This model is a keeper. Great output and nice flame and light visual. Easy to use. Only recommendation would be to have +/- for temperature control. You have to go to max temp then it starts over at a lower setting.

The media could not be loaded.  This product worked fine for us. We removed our oven in our RV and replaced it with the eflame. Heats the coach perfectly.
