Amazon Fresh, Crushed Tomatoes in Purée, 15 Oz (Previously Happy Belly, Packaging May Vary)

Amazon's line of canned tomato products is excellent. I use crushed tomatoes when I need to thicken up a sauce or want added tomato flavor without the chunks. The flavor and texture are very good and I like the price break I get for buying a dozen cans at once.

I’ve been cooking over 50 years and make a lot of different types of sauces etc that use crushed tomatoes. I’m Italian so I’m also fussy about my brands. With grocery prices skyrocketing the brand I usually buy has doubled in price so I decided to try Amazon for savings. I’m very happy I did! I made a 12quart pot of sauce using these with meatballs sausage and pork with mushrooms and it came out great! My adult son was shocked that I switched brands and said the sauce was excellent and couldn’t tell the difference! I also used some Amazon brand tomato paste along with my brand. I would highly recommend buying Amazon brand tomatoes. If you’re looking to save some money but you’re afraid to switch take my advice and try these. They stand up to any brand and I know you’ll be satisfied.

I poured the tomato sauce over the chicken; It was delicious. Thus it would probably be the better sauce ever poured over spaghetti. And the size is an excellent value on a budget.

I'm a chef and tomato coneseur. Cento are the best as far as grocery store plumb tomatoes. There are other brand usually from Italia that are excellent. Keep in mind I'm reviewing the crushed tomatoes. They are very very good and more than half the price as my favorite from italia. Nice color, sweet, thick puree. For the moment they are my go to. Are they as good as the Italian brand no. But it's close and a no Brainerd. As far as consistency time will tell. But they are surprisingly excellent. As far as the whole plum tomatoes not so excellent. The tomatoes had a nice red color and good enough texture but weren't sweet. Just ok also they are in a juice (high water content) as opposed to a tomato puree like my favorite Italian brand. My opinion get the crushed tomatoes and pass on the whole plumb tomatoes huge difference. I prefer crushed tomatoes for a majority of recipes but if the plum tomato is exceptional and in a puree I'll go with a plum tomato all day long cause they are great to eat right out of the can. Cento and Pastene are the best at supermarkets. Both are as good as any restaurant supply depot btw. But as far as these Amazon fresh crushed tomatoes a solid 4 stars out of 5. Buy them they are better than what you'll find at the supermarket in same price range.

I love these stewed tomatoes. I stopped eating s ST over a decade ago bcz they got sweeter(can't stand overly sweet tomatoes and tom sauces), so I tried amazons brand and not only are they less sweet, but they also have a little less sodium so PLEASE Amazon, don't change the recipe.

The best crushed tomatoes out there, as soon as you open the can all you smell is fresh ripe tomatoes my sauce has never been better. You can’t beat the price either. The price compared to others is unbeatable. It’s the only one I buy, such a great brand.
