Messenger-style version of our Ditch bag. Can fit up to a 17" Macbook Pro, or 16" PC. This messenger-style bag can load-out numerous modular containers on the front surface, but keep them hidden/protected under the unassuming flap. The flap compresses bulk with over-sized lock-buckle-straps (which are also removable from the bag.) The flap itself can be removed from the bag in a few seconds (it is mounted on the rear with an ingenious flat-lock system.) It has a large loop-fastener area which also fits our available i.d. window patch. The patch can be secured to the flap w/ our Civilian¨ Rewind cable gear retractor. The new 2012 MOD BagTM now features a luggage-handle hook & loop/webbing mount on the back for convenient airport travel. For the new direct access flap zipper, you can purchase one of our removable flaps available in various colors. This is a new feature currently built onto the removable flaps only and means you dont have to open the buckles to get to the main bay area! PLEASE NOTE: The new 2012 version no longer comes with shoulder pad and stabilizer strap (available as options). PATCHES, SHOULDER PAD, AND STABILIZER NOT INCLUDED.

Railroad Use
After 4 months of owning this bag, I'd say it's the best messenger bad I've owned. I work as a freight railroad conductor, so having a good amount of storage along with a design that can take a beating is a definite plus. In that four month period of time, most bags will be showing signs of wear, including tears, rips, and broken latches. This bag, however, has not a scratch. But let's get down to the important bit, which of course is how it functions. It says in the description that a 15" laptop will fit in the sleeve, however my 15.6" inch laptop fits, albeit very snugly. The center compartment is almost bigger on the inside (sorry, blatant Doctor Who reference). I tend to have it full of rule books, timetables, laptop components, and what not. Even with all that, it still has room for more! The front office pocket is nice, but if things are not in there proper position, it will bulge the front of the bag out a bit. Finally, to my least favorite part, the front flap. When you fill it, and not pay close attention on how your items are arraigned, it WILL give the bag a large front bulge. This is on top of the rather poor carrying handle that is attached. As mentioned in other reviews, the flap covers up a good carrying handle. That's all I got after 4 months of use. My bag did come with a shoulder strap and pad, which I am pleased with. Overall, this is a great bag for those who need one that can stand up to abuse.Pros:+ Large amount of storage+ Very rugged designCons:- Front flap can get in the way, and gets very bulgy when full- Top handle isn't that great

Duty bag review
This briefcase is exactly what I needed for work. I was looking to downsize from a 5.11 duffle I was carrying for a duty bag. Lugging it around became a chore and I never found what I was looking for quickly enough. This briefcase has so many compartment to keep everything so organized and easily accessible. I'm so impressed with it. My coworkers have even commented on it too which always makes me happy. I highly recommend it.As for durability, I just purchased it so I can't comment on it quite yet. I looked closely at the stitching and my guess would be it's a survivor. It's well made and material is structured and thick, compared to my last duty bag. I have no doubt this will last but will update if any issues arise.

Great, just not for large laptops.
Really a good bag. Tough, lots of places to organize and stash stuff. Super easy to keep everything in its place. Documents, writing implements or tools. Very compact, no bulky design. I do have some minor complaints though:1 - Unless you carry a super-thin laptop, this bag is not for you if you are planning on using it as a laptop bag. Especially if your laptop approaches the dimensions specified. This is suited for a Mac or ultrabook-type laptop, nothing thicker. My laptop is at the dimensions specified, but is 2" thick. It will not fit in the padded pouch. However, with my own padded sleeve it fits in the main compartment, which is fine for me. That's what I bought the bag for. (Origin laptops are big. Good luck finding a tactical bag that is designed with a padded pouch big enough to carry one. It's very difficult to find a quality bag for oversize laptops.)2 - The main carry handle/flap. The bag comes with a flip-over flap that has buckles and a carry handle. It's detachable, and the bag remaining has a handle, too. The flap's carry handle is a single nylon strap. The bag's handle is two straps with a velcro wrap-around cover and is MUCH more comfortable than the flap handle. This is especially true if you are hand-carrying any sort of weight. I would suggest that they ditch the flap handle and cut a slot in the flap to slip the main bag handle through. That, or improve the comfort of the flap handle.Other than that, I can say I recommend this bag so long as one is conscious of the laptop pouch size limitations.

Excellent, high quality
I bought this for my husband who works in construction but needs to bring his paperwork with him. Basically he used his former folder for pretty much everything he needed to carry. This works beyond great. It doesn't fall over. It has large amounts of room. It is well made, strong seams, thick material similar to my medium weight horse blankets. I added a couple coffee cup holders with the molle system as well as a couple zippered cases for lunch. He loves this case and it has been withstanding the abuse just fine.

Awesome Laptop Bag
I purchased this MOD along with the separate shoulder strap padding May of 2103. The bag is still holding strong. I always carry my 15' Dell laptop along with 2 Maxpedition fatty pouches (mostly pocket tools for 1st pouch and the other is for a variety of electronic charging cables). I also keep H4 Big Koala and Leatherman Ti with bits. On occasions, I have to throw in a Bulky Headset/mic for Skype use with no issues. There is still plenty of room for my graph paper notebook and documents. The admin pouches of my MOD, normally house local maps, receipts, along with a mixed batch of pens, highlighters, and sharpies. The outter flap pocket is my quick catch: initial receipt/document, pens, medicine packets, or pocket dump depending on location. This bag continues to serve its purpose, and if it ever appears to get too bulky or heavier than usual; signals Spring Cleaning time.

Great bag! Very low key!
Top Quality!!!! I have had multiple briefcases, shoulder bags, and backpacks. I am an estimator for a fast paced construction company and all of my bags have ripped, torn, burned, or failed in some way. This bag carries my laptop, tablet, papers, folders, pens, charging cables, tape measures, water bottle, etc. I pick this up and go. It is my mobile office with out fail. Just the other day I set this down on my construction site and left it just outside the home. Sure enough wile I was walking the project it starts pouring rain. Even worse it was right under the edge of the house where water was dumpling on it. I thought for sure my laptop was ruined. As dry as a bone. I had the exterior flap over it, but the material didn't soak up from the ground either. So far by my mistake....this bag just paid for itself!!!

Fantastic Messenger bag!
My daily driver was a 5.11 "Rush" messenger Bag. I like the Hazard 4 a lot better, as its bigger, but almost too big. I find myself adding more things to it, which is a good thing but it becomes weighty and takes up more space. I took the flap off and that slims the bag down a tad. Im saving the flap for snowy or rainy days. Essentially, for work it holds all that I need: 13 inch chrome book, two binders, pens and any EDC stuff I think ill need for the attack of the mutant hoards in the next apocalypse! Th only real complaint...and its super minor. I miss the pocket on the outside for a water bottle. I added a small Molle pouch for a first aid kit where a bottle would go (need to have one for work). I also like the added feature where the map pouch opens and stays in place w/ two nylon straps. Its like a small shelf if you need to lay stuff down. I use it for first aid. All in all a Great bag, lots of room, enough molle to make a marine roll his eyes while I stroll in the city. The added flap hides the molle so you can look less like a tactical nerd. If you need a large size Messenger bag, this is the one!

Perfect
What a great bag. I have been using it for a few weeks before doing a review. Tough as old boots. Holds my 15" laptop in the excellent well padded compartment. I throw in all the stuff i need for my daily journey to and from work and it comes out to site with me. I think I have found my perfect bag now that I have added a bottle pouch at one end.November 2017 update. Used every day and still in first class condition. I have abused it, overloaded it and it has taken everything. Rain doesn't bother it and the zips are still perfect.
