Looks like it will works great with tons of slots. Did well to split Benadryl, but just not good for LARGE pills like the 5mg Vetmedin pill I ordered it for. I'll keep for other pills & the scissor pill splitter I also ordered will work for my larger pills this doesn't have a slot for.

It cuts okay, definitely a learning curve to it. I haven't had to use it in a while but I still ended up crushing pills the last time I tried. I was not impressed.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews. If used as directed this product works great. It cuts the pill evenly and without crumbling. I take an oblong shape pill that must be cut in half and has no score lines. I used the little cheap one from the drug store and it was terrible. With this I don’t worry about lining up the pill or worry about it jumping out of place. I highly recommend it.

This is not a good design. Whoever came up with the idea of letting the pills have room to move around, so they don't crumble, didn't consider what that would do to dosage levels. I used this cut large, 600 mg gabapentin pills in half because I take 900 mg at a time, so 1.5 pills. Using one of the openings in the machine that fit the pills perfectly resulted in a crumbled mess. Using the next larger size, as per the instructions to let the pill move a little, resulted in vastly different sizes between the two halves. One cut resulted in one half only being 1/4 of the weight of the whole pill, and the other half being 3/4 the weight. That greatly affects the dosage!I also tried this to gut my 10 mg oxycodone pills in half to make 5mg lighter doses for when my pain isn't as bad. Same results. Using the slot that fits perfect results in powdered pills. Using the next larger slot results in halves that are mismatched.The other thing that really caused a problem with me, and several wasted pills, is the top "ejection" holes for the two halves. Even using the included cup to try and catch them I had several hit the floor and have to be discarded. The two halves simply do not come out in a way that makes catching them easy, particularly if you have tremors or are in pain. This was a complete waste of money for me.

The pill cutter works great for all shapes and sizes. Just be careful when you press don’t need to press until the lever stops just need to crack the pills in half. I have one pill that crumbles easily and the fixed my issue.

This is worse at splitting pills in half than ordinary cheap splitters. The directions warn against putting the pill in a hole of exactly the right size - and they are right. When you try it that way, you get a lot of crushed pill. So you need to pick a hole that is a little large, and that means when you cut the pill it will scoot to the side and you'll get uneven pieces, every time.

Having purchased a number of pill cutters only to have them crush rather than cut pills, it was wonderful to find a pill cutter that effectively cuts pills of all shapes and sizes with precision and accuracy! The disk flips over to offer additional options in pill size, and the blade makes smooth cuts. As the pills are held in the place by the pre-sized disk, there is no more chasing pills around the cutting board, as I tried to hack at them with a knife. Other pill cutters, even the best that I tried, still were not able to hold the pill in place, allowing the pill to sometimes shift before I was able to bring the blade down to make the cut. No more! Put the pill in the holder, bring the blade down swiftly and you are done. This item has really been helpful, as I am now cutting a number of pills for a family member as well.

This is the best pill cutter I have used. It cuts the pill even and smooth.
