Spreads and sets nicely
This mortar is easy to spread. I used a spackling blade and it did quite well. I bought it to seal some minor cracks in the cement floor of my fireplace. It filled the cracks well and set up hard. I won't be using the fireplace until winter sets in, but I'm sure this will alleviate my problem. I plan to go back in a few weeks and spread some more where I may have missed very small cracks and to top off some of the larger ones that have already been filled. I am pleased with the results so far and I look forward to putting it to the test when fire season arrives.

Works Great and Easy to Use
This mortar product was easy to use with a caulking spatula. I filled in the gaps between the floor of the firebox and the rock hearth. Now there is a smooth transition and ashes won't collect there when I clean out the fireplace. Good stuff!

Paintable & Great For Sealing 1/2" Wall Cracks
We used this for an entirely off label purpose...sealing wall gaps so critters couldn't get in our apartment. For about 2 months we dealt with a single industrious field mouse. We figured out where he was coming in - having created a 1/2" custom door for himself in our kitchen. Never stayed there though - kept traveling to our living room, and making his home under our brand new couch which he chewed a hole through the side of! Never wanted one of God's creatures DEAD so bad in my life!!! We laid traps. We soaked the house in peppermint. We tried foam insulation on any little crevice we found throughout the entire house - was incredibly insulting to literally watch him chew through the insulation at his favorite entry point. We put poison in his favorite entry point. We were beginning to think he was laughing at us with an old school bwahahaha! We tried wood shims and Spackle - chewed through that too! Amazed that the little bastard hadn't worn down his teeth we considered a stakeout with a tomahawk to give him a chop! Then as a final last ditch effort before insisting that our landlord fumigate the joint we tried what we now like to call The Red Devil bwahahaha! Made sure his tiny butt was out of the house - he thought he could come and go as he pleased so he would leave in the day & come back at night. Then we laid down the cement - shoving it into every crevice we could find...layering it over the insulation he hadn't eaten through. Then we waited. For two nights we listened to him attempting to break through. We could tell from his noises that he was disgruntled and upset as his repeated efforts failed. When the third night came there was silence. Beautiful, blessed silence. We've not seen / heard from him again. Still a bit paranoid so I have my hubby check for any signs of him, and there has never been another sign of him. Painted over the cement easily. Can't tell we ever did anything. Steam cleaned all of the carpet. Put a side table next to the couch to hide the upholstery tear until we can afford another couch. Now finally at peace that the little beast is forever gone. Hallelujah!

Real deal
Easy to apply. Set up quick and rock solid. Already had our first fire in the fireplace. Even matches the gray color of our old mortar. Really pleased with this product.

Good stuff
Got it early, sealed and undamaged. Used it, cured it, and it frigging works. Nice stuff, saved me a bundle on replacing the whole shabang.Must sit at least 48 hours to properly dry and use slow heat fire to cure properly. Did not bubble, break or crack as reported elsewhere.
