Struggled with in the beginning.
In the beginning of this build, had problems with the paint drying and adhering to the body. And some alterations from a factory set points. it actually turned out really nice. Between me and my son passing it back and forth to see who could fix what. I got it back fixed a few things with it plugged into my Fender amp and it really rock's We Never had done anything like this before so to us it was a success.

Worth the money
Everything in the box was in good condition, the timing peg screws can be a little difficult to work with being so small and strip if not careful. I would say it's worth the money, a good first build for sure. This guitar has decent p90s, but one thing you'll likely have to do is buy some neck shims to get the neck angle correct. The nut slots were pretty high so I had to cut them down by quite a bit so the first three frets wouldn't go sharp. Other than that, it is bare wood, you will have to at least put some sealer on the wood to protect it, or do an outright paint job. You'll likely have to clean up the machine head peg a bit so it doesn't break your little E string when tuning. This is after all a diy kit, you'll have to do a little work to make it yours.

Perfect
This is the best kit that I have ever assembled. As with all kits, some minor tweaking was necessary. In this case the pickup shell needed to be shaped to the body contour. Sounds great when plugged in and when unplugged.Last but not least, the neck fit perfectly. Thanks Fretwire.

Very fun project
It was a very fun project, and the more time you put in the better. Good thick neck like my real ES-125. The P90 is noisy as to be expected and the pots needed cleaning. But she sings.

If you take your time and think things through, you’ll end up with a quality instrument.
Ordered on a whim, I spent some time..several months actually, just looking it over, fixing a few minor imperfection and doing some test fits. Deciding how it was to look, I decided I’d try to make it look like the old Sears Silvertone arch top I learned on back in the early 60’s. Of course it was merely acoustic. The build went smoothly, although drawing the electric through the body took some trial and error before I got it all in. I wasn’t happy with the bridge provided and replaced it with one with independent string screw adjustments. A pick guard would complete the look I’m going for, but that can wait and not necessary as I just finger pick.Three days after completion and adjusting the neck and bridge, I played it at our church, at an evening of jazz fund raiser. Got many compliments on the mellow sound after I played “Summertime”. By Gershwin. The guitar looks vintage, sounds great and is easy to play, my new ‘’go to’’ guitar when I just feel like picking, for a few minutes.

Slightly rough woodwork, but a great build for the price
Generally an impressive build quality for the price, but some minor woodworking details could have been cleaner, like the neck pocket. It was pretty rough, and the inner layer of wood veneer is pretty splintered at that part of the body as a result. There is also a bit of a rough cut on one of the sides of the Guitar where it meets the neck heel for the same reason. Also, the frets needed some dressing because they weren’t flush with the fingerboard. With a little tlc, and a few upgraded parts, though, I was able to build a beautiful instrument that sounds great and is a pleasure to play.

Stay away
Pickguard had no holes drilled in the body. Tremlo holes didn’t line up at all. Couple gouges in in the body that I had to sand out. I’ve done many of different types of kit guitars. By far this was the worst body I’ve ever got. Way to expensive for what I got. I could’ve got a brand new fender squire same body type with humbuckers for the same price.

bad assembly and tool marks
I was VERY excited for this kit. i was very disappointed.. Starting with the body. It is made from Veneered ply, which had a lot of surface voids and really deep and wide grain. i sanded this down but since it is veneer i couldn't sand too far in fear of sanding through to the next level of the plywood. The profile (shape) of the body isn't rounded well resulting the side walls of the body to be really wavy. which i also cant sand down too much. This resulted in me having to add a lot of sanding sealer to smooth out the guitar as best i could. Also on the body id like to address the neck pocket It is made from BASS WOOD, since this wood is so soft and the tools they used to cut out the neck were probably dull they wood was badly hacked up and rough so it involved alot of reworking and a few shims to get slop out of the neck pocket.Next id like to address the neck. The neck is the best part of the kit, it is thin and feels good. the neck block that is glued into the pocket did have a center cut of wood though. This cut of wood is what very unstable (usually how 4x4s are cut)finally the accessories are what i expected, chromed alloy. Not a great product. Hopefully good customer service.
