Set it and forget it (pros and cons)
The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant when it came to purchasing this arm because some of the reviews were stating that the tension wire inside of the arm easily breaks if you move it often. But then I thought “well the point of a mic arm is to set it up and just leave it in the most convenient for the user” so I don’t have to fear about that issue. Needless to say I ended up buying it so here are the pros and consPros-It has a very sturdy base that can mount nicely on any desk no matter how thick or thin-It looks great because it’s not like your conventional mic arms with those square brackets and visible springs!-The cable management clips on the top and back of the arm make so you don’t have to be constantly looking for ways to manage the cables yourself (can fit both USB and XLR cables with ease).Cons-This is not one of those mic arms where you can constantly move it around it’s more of a Set it and Forget it mic arm.-The mic does not come with a warranty so be careful!-I wouldn’t put overly heavy mics like the Yeti or any high tier shure mica on this arm based on prior reviews.SummaryI’ve been using this arm for about 3 months now and I have had no issues with it myself. A key thing that you have to keep in mind however, is that I am also using a Thronmax Mic and Shock mount. So in my case all of these components were made to complement one another and work flawlessly. If you are the type of person that does not fidget with their mic arms then this is the one for you like I said it’s a “set it and forget it” stand!

Best made studio mic boom, hands down.
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love this Mic boom. It's lightweight easy to adjust, moves with zero sound. It's hard to find a boom that is made as well as this.It doesn't use spring retention, the main source of tention comes from the braided steel wire that runs through the whole arm and over each joint. And you adjust each joint with as much tention as you like. If you like to move it up and down a lot thats fine, if you prefer the sweet spot and don't want to lose it that works too!The only downside is due to the way it works it mostly requires you to have you mic dropping down from above. I was able to find a sweet spot with the mic facing upright but it is very low to the desk. But in most cases this won't affect you very much because you don't really need the mic right in your face you can always adjust mic gain for the distance, and if your worried about increasing gain to compensate distance and picking up background noises just use a sound suppressor!Another great feature is the ability to hide your mic cord in a channel with built in clips.I believe this mic comes with the adaptor for the different sizes of mic screw threads.I've went through different booms and mics and I'm sick of the spring loaded kind. This one is more asthetically pleasing and is just so easy to use and set up.

Solid, but lacking
The media could not be loaded. The design of the Thronmax Zoom is beautiful, however there are features on it, that lack significantly. To start, the adjustment next to where you place the mic can interfere with certain XLR mics such as the Shure SM7B. You cannot turn the mic without the XLR cable threatening to rip out due to the size of the adjustment point. Another feature that I find sad, is the amount of tension you can place on the arm. I cannot move my arm as freely as I want to, due to the Shure SM7B outweighing the arm itself. Even fully adjusting the arm, it still will not fully support the mic.Other than those two key points, the stand is great. I could put my Elgato Wave 3 on this no problem, or even an AT2035 and it can support them. However, it is not for me.

Sturdy, high quality, great cable management
I’ve been very pleasantly impressed by this boom-style stand. It’s tall enough to go over my (quite wide) monitor & is very adjustable. I’ve found the tension to be pretty strong & easy to adjust. It help both my Blue Yeti Pro & my MXL 770 (~1.2lbs max) without breaking a sweat.Super easily adjustable, the only change is make is I would like to see the stand snap into the base like caster wheel pivots do, rather than the pivot simply freely sitting. It seems secure enough in general use though, so not an issue.

Not like a traditional boom, but very nice for a "fixed" setup that you use the same every time.
The media could not be loaded. This is a really nice boom in terms of looks. In terms of functions it's not like a regular boom so you kinda have to forget that. This is more of a set it and forget it. If you want a boom that you can freely adjust go with a standard boom. The internal cable can break easy from what I have read so it's best to loosen everything, put it at the angle you want and tighten them to a fixed position. Leaving the knob closest to the desk loose so you can move the boom up out of the wayWhat I did is mount it via through hole(the clam style is nice too but I chose through hole). Put a little fabric handle on mine and just move the entire arm up or down in this fixed position.Have included video

No good for Shure SM7B: Too weak, and the hinge gets in the way.
I bought this for my Shure SM7B Microphone, and returned it immediately.First off, despite the product's claim of supporting up to 1 kg (~2.2 lb), it sagged under the weight of my microphone (For reference, the SM7B is hefty at 1.6 lb, but well within the weight limit). This was with the tension arm as tight as I could get it.Second, the hinge near the mic end is too large and blocks the use of a standard XLR cable with my mic. I mean, you can get the plug in, but there's considerable sideways stress on the connector, and you can't rotate the mic anymore. Other boom arms can also have this problem with the SM7B (The RODE PSA1 arm, for example) and an extension tube could fix it, but that would be an extra $8 part that could be avoided if the joint was smaller.

Better then The 100$ yeti Boom arm
I have gone through three yeti boom arms that cost over $100. I was a little hesitant at getting this cheap boom arm at first but then when I got it and realized the quality and how much better it was over the 100$ yeti Boom armThe stability isn’t the greatest but the sturdiness and range of motion is top tierHighly Recommend This Boom arm🤌
