Works, but...
Neo Cooling Pad works the way it is supposed to. The crystal material in it melts when your Laptop gets hot, resulting in heat being drawn away from your Laptop. BUT, since the heat of a Laptop is unevenly distributed, the melting of the material in the Neo Pad will become unevenly distributed. Due to the weight of the Laptop, the melted material gets pushed into non-melted areas. When the Pad cools, the Pad will have an uneven distribution of material (i.e. there is a big depression where the Laptop gets most hot). The manufacturers should have sealed the crystal material into separate channels/pockets, thus preventing the material from being unevenly distributed when it cools (i.e. a suggestion to the manufacturers. if this were the case, I would have rated the product higher).

Does the job well, but develops hard crystals and air pockets with time - read my review for solutions
I'm using this for my MacBook which doesn't have any fan, so the casing can get quite hot with long heavy use such as video editing. The Neo pad does a great job of absorbing the extra heat from my MacBook, which makes it much more comfortable, and also makes it run faster for long jobs (the MacBook will slow down if things get too hot). However, the pad contains crystals that liquify under heat, and these recrystallize quite hard in dark patches when they cool down again. That looks ugly and leave the pad uneven, making my MacBook wobble. It also leaves air pockets where the MacBook was the hottest, preventing it from cooling it again at the spots where it needs it the most. I found I could soften and redistribute the crystals again just by putting the pad in tap hot water for about 5 minutes and then cool it back down under cold water while massaging it a bit. It works well, the pad's crystals get redistributed and stay softer, but but it's a pain.I found a much better way that make the pad work wonderfully though, but be warned, it's hacky. Using a syringe and very small needle, I replaced all the air with water and then sealed the pin hole with solid tape (I used clear hockey tape). My pad now stays soft and cushy all the time, hard crystal and air pockets never form, even after heavy use, and it cools my MacBook even better! This transformed my pad from a poor product I would have returned to a fantastic cooling pad. I'm not sure why the manufacturer never did that to start with; if they would have, they'd be getting five stars.

Is not worth...
July 14, 2016It worked for me one time perfectly. Then became liquid and now is always that way. So ok it helps, but can't be compare to other products like a fan for example.I think the main problem is I spend a lot of gaming time, so my laptop gets REALLY hot. So If you want the pad and you only spend a few hours a week on your computer, then I think this will work for you. Another thing you have to consider, is the temperature of your environment. Mine is always hot (tropical country) so it doesn't help much the pad to do his job.**Update** Sep 30, 2016I found that the pad became liquid an spilled a lot. I did not take pictures of my computer because I ran and cleaned as soon as I saw it, but I took photos of the pad. Now I can say the pad last only 2-3 months. Don't waste your time.

Despite other claims, it does work.
I don't love it as much as my original, but it does the job. Some people claim it makes problems worse, but I've used these kind of cooling pads and it accomplishes 2 things: it keeps the normal vent clear by raising the laptop some (which needs all the help it can get since Apple cooling designs generally stink), and it adds some airspace so the laptop is touching some pockets of air. They may help only a little, but it kept my 2011 Macbook pro from destroying it's discrete graphics chip for 6 years. In fact, it wasn't until I lost my original pad that I lost the graphics chip. Most people didn't even get 6 years out of their chips since that model ran so hot. This one isn't quite as good as the original, but it is workable.

It leaks!
While this is nice and light, my MacBook got hot and this became liquid like. I think it leaked out and became a gooey substance that then stuck to the bottom of my MacBook. When it cools it becomes gritty. All around it is just bad.

It's pretty cool. Big and does what I expected it ...
It's pretty cool. Big and does what I expected it to do. It won't turn you into an icicle but the solid crystals will turn into gel in the process of removing heat from your lap and laptop computer. On some of the newer machines including tablet-convertibles, heck even on 2011 Macbooks.. there are areas of the bottom cover that hotter than others. On some machines the hot zones are isolated. In such cases you can simply rotate and fold the pad as needed to get it to cover the hot zone effectively. Sometimes I just rotate it periodically so that a solid crystal resides beneath the hto area which will turnhot it into gel.

Really neat cooling pad that works for all our our tends to heat up devices
I got this for a new largish tablet we recently got that gets super hot super fast. It then cycles the brightness down "due to a thermal event". Well this mat works perfectly for it as it stops this problem. The material inside changes from hard to soft and back based on temperature. It's very neat. It's used on the laptop and under the old tablet too. It works for all of them. It makes it possible to have the laptop on your lap without your legs heating up. The bright blue color is cheery and brightens up the dark or gray electronics. If you found this review helpful, please click yes below. I do my best to leave my experience with the product.

Not bad, Not superb
It helps, I can definitely notice a difference. but it's not as a big of a difference as I was looking for, but it will definitely do in the mean time. I got it because I like to play World of Warcraft and Sims 3 on my macbook pro and it tends to get a bit hot at times when I'm playing those. If i remember to put it under right as I start playing it works much better than putting it under when it starts to feel hot. Dunno why, but it does. So if you're looking for just a little something, this is for you, if you're looking for something a little bit more heavy duty you may consider holding onto your dollars and continuing your search. Overall I'm content with it.
