Great little book to use when exploring the alps. Compact and takes no space in your luggage.

Used this guidebook for our road trip from Lake Annecy (arr. Geneva) to Nice, visiting lots of the stunning French national parks in between. We discovered two incredible hikes in Col de la Valnoise and Lac de Vens, both featured as ‘not to be missed’, which were the highlights of our trip. The guidebook is up-to-date and hugely extensive with plenty of suggestions, which is much welcomed as there doesn’t seem to be that many guidebooks on Route des grande Alpes. It finished short of our trip through to Côte d’Azur, which was a little bit of a shame but overall fantastic. I would’ve loved some prescribed driving tours like Marco Polo but was rather satisfying planning a bespoke route. It became my hobby for a couple of weeks and this book was indispensable.
