This is a nice opener of the newer type that lifts the entire lid rather than cutting it. This lets you use the lid to close the can if you only use half of it and put the remainder back in the refrigerator without using and then having to wash another container.It has an efficient mechanism that is easy to turn which is important for me since I have some arthritis in my hands. It is well worth the modest price. I might even buy some more as gifts for some older friends.

The media could not be loaded. Love this lightweight can opener. I'm used to can openers with two handles, so I was surprised when I saw this one with one handle. I found it to be very easy to use. Place the can opener with the half-circle/loop on top of the can. There seems to be a magnet that attaches and holds onto the can. Sometimes I can hear a click, but once the can opener is in place, the can is secure. As the knob is turned, the can opener goes around the can and will cut the lid, leaving a smooth edge. It's a nice space saving can opener that works great! I'm not sure about the rust resistance because I wash and completely dry the can opener as soon as I'm finished using it.

They may call it 'Basic', but I've owned many can openers in my life - and this is, far and away, the best I've ever owned. So far it has worked first time around for me every time. No more sharp edges or trying to pry a half-off lid from a can. Highly recommended.

I had never tried one of the newer types, so i bought it for the price. Turns out, it’s a great buy. Very comfortable grip, smooth action, magnet so i don’t have to touch the lid, very easy to use, feels odd as if i got an opposite hand one… not sure, but still easy. Smoothly cuts around the cans leaving no sharp edges anywhere. Lid doesn’t fall into the can anymore, so just a little push and it’ll go right in for disposal purposes.Try it, it’s surprising.

Can opener works great. I'm a senior citizen this opener makes it easy to use.

For several years now I have struggled using both manual & electric can openers. Ever since the lip band on the can has been made thinner by the industry; it has been next to impossible to get a grip on the lip to proceed with actual opening. This new design of a can opener has made opening cans so easy! The inventor/designer of this contraption literally deserves an award. Bravo, to you sir or madame! Bravo!

Comodo da usare, talmente comodo che al primo utilizzo pensavo che non stesse tagliando nulla. Poi magicamente, scatola aperta perfettamente. Addirittura con i bordi della scatola non taglienti, quindi raccomandatissimo!

Saw this type of tin opener on a YouTube video (yes, I know... I'm a bit weird like that) and when I saw amazon basics had one, thought why not, I need a new tin opener anyway. This tin opener is life changing (as much as a tin opener can change your life, which isn't a great amount but still). No sharp edges on tins, no having to reset the opener after it doesn't grab onto the tin properly, and probably the biggest benefit, the removed top can be used as a lid! No more plastic wrap or tin foil to cover open tins! Would recommend.
