Awesome, High End Backpacking Boot
These boots run small and fit similar to Ahnu's. I'm a size 8-8.5 and got a 9. They are a perfect fit. The 8.5 was too tight and I had to return them. They definitely run narrow with a narrow toe box. If you have wider foot they most likely aren't for you. They're an absolutely beautiful boot with a firm sole (minimal bend) and excellent traction/grip. In my opinion, they're suitable year round for a variety of climates. I do 15-20 mile backpacking trips and I'm hopeful that they'll be a good replacement for my previous boots. They were strongly recommended to me by a friend that has done weekly trips for years.Well worth $200 in terms of quality, fit and look. I can't yet speak to how they hold up over time but my friend has had his for years. I like that they have a slim, feminine look and are low profile. Way less clunky than many other boots. I wear them with slim but hiking pants and they look great.

Best Hiking Shoes for the Adirondacks!
I cannot say enough about how much I love these shoes. I do a lot of hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, and have been able to successfully navigate the cliffs on Mt. Saddleback as well as climb up Mt. Colden's trapdike and slide on these shoes (no rock shoes required!). The traction is unbelievable, and the narrow toe rand makes navigating fairly steep rock with small toe-holds feasible. The extra support on the sole is fantastic, too, allowing me to avoid sore feet, even when traveling for miles on end up and over streambeds and other uneven, rocky terrain.I did buy a half size larger, and am glad that I did (I normally wear an 8, and purchased an 8.5), as they are a wee bit narrow in the toe region.Although I will still wear my Keens on some of the hikes, any hikes that require rock scrambling, cliff climbing, or slide ascent will be completed using these shoes, and when my Salewas wear out, I will definitely be purchasing another pair.

Best boots for me
I had tried on other boots at a local retail store to determine size but also comfort. There were a couple pairs that would have worked but I took the risk of ordering these and was so glad that I did. They were comfortable the first time I tried them on and needed no wear to break them in. I liked the slim fit of these and not the bulky "manly" style you usually see in boots. Great style design too,. I really appreciated the full toe box because I hiked a very rocky terrain. The arch support kept me going and never had to re-tie once I laced up. The lace up begins over the big toe and not behind the toes which gave a more snug fit. I hiked everyday for two weeks in these and I am thankful I made this purchase. I highly recommend them and will purchase more of these in the future.

fit, comfort, uncommon tough design
Its my first hiking shoes of brand Salewa, since its very difficult to find this product in my country. I choose this model, and so far satisfied. The design is fitted to my feet, even it is half bigger from my number (Should be 37.5, but i got 38 eu size). The model is good, i love it very much, and the uncommon design i mostly like such as the back part which is thin and very comfortable, and the wire at the back to each side made it more fit and tough design look. The inner sole also made more comfort because it is washable or just remove to dry out. The out sole, vibram, is no more comment, very good, and the most i like is there is "climbing zone" part which is made this shoes tough in every rough topography. So i gave 4 star, but i'll give 5 if the price is more friendly :D

Great boots for casual rocky walks
Love these boots! They are very light and fit my narrow feet very well. I read tons of reviews and chose these because they were recommended for a narrow foot. I was not disappointed. I am not a heavy-duty hiker so not sure how they'd be for someone who used them hard. They are very different from the boots I'd had earlier--not at all clunky-looking or feeling and that took a little getting used to. But for my easy hiking, they seem perfect. Almost feel like sneakers. No break-in required--fit great from Day One. Love them! Very satisfied.

Good boots!
Comfort right out of the box, with no real break in time.As a note, I wear regular socks while hiking or just walking around in these and they were about a half-size too big. If you wear thicker outdoor socks just get your normal show size. They seem durable enough, but I've never had a boot with Vibram soles last anywhere as long as I'd like, and the soles of these Salewa's seem very soft. They feel fine for hiking through the woods, but if you're encountering a lot of rock or tar/asphalt, they're going to wear out fast!I typically only purchase and wear Asolo or Lowa boots. For good reason. You won't find better made, more comfortable, or longer lasting boots. Trust me, I've searched. If the choice was between Salewa, Asolo, or Lowa however, I wouldn't be writing this review. But I was looking for a softer type boot for everyday and occasional weekend activities.Anyway, these will do me just fine for as long they last. Which is hopefully at least one or two seasons. This is a REAL review! No discount. No bologna.Bought at full price with my own money.
