Order this with prime took about 4 days to Receive quality and condition condition is good. Wish there would have been a easier way to install this without having to swap out the old original motherboard from the disk drive that was originally in the system into the new disk drive. Without this method it will not work. Level of Difficulty would be intermediate.

It will not read any kind of disk. I just ordered Another Ribbon and if that isn't the case I will ask for a refund. (It will take and eject disks but not read them/ but that's what the broken one did.)

I got a PS3 slim cech-2001a running 4.88 official still warranty sealed that would accept and eject but not read movies or games, would not spin disc. I swapped logic board from original optical drive into this new optical drive. Disc would read and property identify game or movie but throw error playing both. Error on movies was region. I put original logic board that came with optical drive back and it works properly. This was unexpected but it works great now. I'm glad I purchased it. Also swapped cmos battery while at it given age of PS3.

it works, had to swap the control board with my old one to allow for the PS3's hardware lock-down but this is exactly as i needed it

the seller doesn't mentione it but it is USE~d part. main come with sines of rust... returned

I believe I still have to change out the circuit board in the unit, I did the swap with no issues but the new drive accepts disc but will not play or run them

I liked that it's easy to install in my ps3 so I didn't have to buy a whole new console
