Little Darlings

Great movie.

This is a movie I watched with my mother all the time. It’s a great coming of age movie, about what it means to be a young girl going through puberty and the pure pressure that comes along with it. it has great acting great casting would definitely recommend this movie

Movie always reminded me of my sister and I and I enjoyed rewatching it. Still a classic?!

For literally decades now, Little Darlings has been a bit neglected in terms of home video availability. A title that had an initial home video release on vhs in the early 1980's via Paramount home video but from what I could tell wasn't a vhs release that was mass produced in significant quantities. Even as a rental title, more often than not Little Darlings wasn't available at any Blockbuster video store I ever went to. When the 1990's rolled around, Little Darlings wasn't a title I was ever able to find upgraded to an official dvd release. Eventually, a region free dvd import was available around 2010 or so, but it was in fullscreen format and the picture quality literally looked like it had been copied from one of those old early 1980's vhs tapes.Well, in the past year, Little Darlings has FINALLY gotten a proper home video release treatment. First on blu-ray in 2023 and now with 4K Ultra HD.The product I just got today is the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray combo set.It's basically what I had been looking for in terms of quality. The original soundtrack music has been restored, it is in widescreen format and has been remastered from the original 35mm print, so the picture quality is literally the sharpest I have ever seen in terms of home video releases for this title.Why only 4 out of 5 stars? Well, for upwards of $50, frankly I thought the extras were a bit sparse in terms of (and this may be a bit too nitpicky, but) perhaps wanting to have had an extras segment featuring some of the actors who appeared in the film today talking about their experiences making the movie. Zero in that regard. BUT for $50 I did get the two discs - one Ultra HD and one regular bluray - and being that I've long been a fan of the film, have wanted to see it cleaned up, restored and in widescreen and honestly would have thought as of a couple years ago that such a release was never going to happen, I suppose I'm just happy for that at this point.

this nostalgic movie brings back all of the true innocence, awkwardness embarrassment & pain that goes hand in hand with growing from a girl. into a young lady! And this film manages to do this with fun, laughter & endearing characters. I have cherished this sweet & funny movie from back in the days when I was the same age as the two main characters, Angel & Ferris . Both who think they are SO Different, come to realize by the end of the movie that they’re more alike then they ever thought ! It is a sweet, funny & at times very poignant yet powerful, coming of age story! In which almost every young girl can find a part of herself in one of these amazing true to life characters. To me this movie was an instant classic and it remains relevant to this day. I passed it on to my daughter and now that she has a daughter, I am sure when she’s old enough she will pass it on to her.

This movie is a early 80s classic and I'm glad its finally on blu ray but what the hell is up with this awful new artwork? It doesn't represent the movie correctly. Fans of this 1980 teen comedy dont want new crappy artwork that makes it look like its about two women getting touchy feely in a pool. Also the price is ridiculous.

当時レンタルを借りまくりました。出会いがわからないですが、マットディロンを初めて見てカッコいいと思いました。クリスティマクニコルのファンに。なかなかその後見ることがなかったので手元に置けてすごく嬉しい😆

I can't say enough good things about this movie. Ya know when they say 'they just don't make them like this anymore'? well it's true with LITTLE DARLINGS. Kind of a Meatballs for girls, this starts out like a teen drama film but turns into something much bigger and more moving than most of the films I've seen in 50 yrs. Get it. You'll love it.
