HeddonSuper Spook Topwater Fishing Lure for Saltwater and Freshwater, Clown, (1/2 oz)

Awesome top water lure. I have caught over a dozen fish on this lure. Well made, sharp hooks.One of my best fishing stories with this lure:I hooked into a a decent sized fish that was giving me a good fight. The line broke, and I lost my lure. I was ready to order another right at that moment, but figured I’d wait until I got home.About 20 minutes later, I hear a fish jump out of the water about 50’ away. I looked over, saw the fish literally spit the lure out. I even heard the lure rattle.Rather than leave my lucky Heddon lure floating in the distance, I put another top water lure on and tried to hook it and retrieve it.After about 15 casts, I was able to hook it and bring it in.I wouldn’t believe the story if someone told me.

The media could not be loaded.  Bought it back on September. Use it once and didn’t catch anything. Till yesterday May 30 2020 caught my personal best 3 pound Largemouth Bass. First ever Top water as well.

I have a myriad of different super spooks and I have to say it's a really fun lure to fish with.I've mostly been using the super spooks in the surf (believe it or not), and have caught some pretty aggressive stripers with them so far.Fun lure to fish, and there's a "Method" to them, in that you want to learn "The walk" when you retrieve them. It drives fish mad and even in the surf I get hits. I typically wait for the first breaker to break (usually a good sized one) then you have some nice still water for a bit. Fire it out there... do "The Walk", if there's predatory fish in that close they're gonna take notice to it. I have yet to try them in a large reservoir where Stripers are present, I have a feeling they'll produce results. I also use the angler clips so I can change patters out quickly while I'm on the beach.You also have to beware of birds, cause they can see these a mile away and they swoop down on them if you're not careful, so stay alert (for coastal surf fishing that is).But so far they cast great, they alert fish and it's a lot of fun to fish with a top water lure in the Surf.

Reds and Trout attacked this thing. This one and the red head were instant action every day of fishing. Had my limit within 30-45 minutes each day. It's a must have!

Seems to be a great size and catches fish. Hooks are super sharp and fish generally stay hooked. You will too if it catches you - be careful. The one I bought for this review is "Baby Bass" finish. Bass are quite cannibalistic and this finish brings out the cannibal in them. Perfect size for my bait casting rigs. Works well also with medium spinning tackle, but fishing this type bait with spinning gear takes proper technique to prevent loops on your spool. It's doable though and results are great if you can master the line handling. It's easier to handle on baitcasting and spin casting gear.

Has good action. caught a handful of small schoolies on it. My only issue with this lure is the hooks. 1st there are 3 treble hooks on a <5" bait so i'd catch a 16" stripper and there would be 5 hooks to remove. also after catching about 12 fish (and loosing a few) 2 of the treble hooks were broken and the split ring of one had started to uncoil. Good bait, swap out the hardware (and lose the middle hook) otherwise the big one might get away.

I am very pleased with this lure. It cast very far and easy with 10 and 12 lb mono line. Good price and quality along with good topwater action during the retrieve. I caught dozens of schoolie stripers this fall with it and had a lot of fun. I am glad that I purchased several of these just in case of a price increase for next season!

Vert good lure i changed the hooks to single inline 0/2 Mustads got better hook up rate

I ordered the "white/pink head/silver insert" version. The image associated to it does make it look way more red than it actually is. This lure is actually very bright pink. It's like the description, not the image. I intended on getting a red one with a transparent body like the image is made to look. (I know one is labeled red, I didn't want the white body {or at least the image shows a white body, who knows} I wanted the clear body) Now with that being said, I'm not that upset since it actually looks really good just beware that it's a bright pink. And the important thing is that it catches fish, hopefully I'll find out soon enough.
