Sophia wants to fast for the first time in this Ramadan tale. Sophia wants to fast for Ramadan this year. Her grandma tells her that fasting helps make a person sparkly—and Sophia loves sparkles. But when her attempt at fasting fails, Sophia must find another way to participate. This lovely multigenerational family story explores the many ways to take part in the Ramadan holiday. Review: Ramadan children's book - Sweet book for younger children Review: The joyful story for kids - I love the gift of Ramadan as it is standing out from the other kids Ramadan books. It is very joyful and fun which also shows the hardness of fasting and the struggle that a regular human has while fasting. It does not feel like somebody is preaching but it shows the kid's natural perseverance, sadness and support to others. It is definitely the best Ramadan book for me and my 6 year old. She has been reading it for the last 2 years.

So Glad to add this to our collection
As the first day of Ramadan 2019 comes to an end, I am so happy to have added this newest Ramadan storybook to my almost 5 year old daughter's library. I absolutely love the main character's lovely head of curls- love the diversity and making storybook characters relatable to my little one. The story itself is inspiring- so real - shares the little ones 'slip' plus her amazing successes and ability to turn a difficult situation into a 'glittering' one! Defn a lovely addition to any library! My only positive feedback is that although the artwork in the book is gorgeous, there are a couple of pages early on where the graphics are blurry and not quite sharp. I'm not sure if all the prints came out this way or not- but it doesn't detract from the overall lovely quality of the book. Keep up the awesome work, dear author & illustrator!

A Clear and Inclusive Introduction to Ramadan for Kids
I was looking for a kid-friendly book that explains Ramadan, and this one was perfect for my 8-year-old daughter. I also appreciated that the girl in the story wasn’t shown wearing a hijab. I don’t like when all the characters are portrayed as covered, as if only certain people can fast.

Short and sweet book with beautiful illustrations
The Gift of Ramadan is a short and sweet book with beautiful illustrations for children to understand Ramadan better. Sophia the main character wants to fast, but it gets hard for her, which is understandable and realistic for young children. So she figures out another way to enjoy Ramadan; by helping her grandma make Iftar for her family who are fasting. I like how the book showed this way to enjoy Ramadan for children. It’s something different but doable and still rewarding. I would recommend this book for children 5-8 years old.

A fun way to show that children can take part in Ramadan even when they don’t fast
A stunning book that makes Ramadan fun and easy to understand for children. Many of us get caught up in the fasting portion of Ramadan and may forget to show children that there are other ways that we show love and do good during ramadan. This book also stresses to children that they don’t need to fast because of their age, but can still take part in Ramadan in different ways. I love that there is no “in your face” lesson, just information about Ramadan through a story of love.

Good read for young girls
My girl love this book. We read it every once in a while. The MC has curly hair like her and you'd think "Oh she's just like my kid" and it provide encouragement for the kids if they ever find fasting too hard or fail to fail for a whole day.
