The story aspect of the series is very enjoyable. I found myself skipping over the parts where makoda is cooking the food, which in this volume seemed like half of the book.

If your looking for a quick read these are really great I can normally knock one out in about 1/2 a day. I don't understand why the American books that are this short have so many spelling errors but this one is thankfully bereft of them. Despite them being from a foreign author so kudos to you Ren for restoring my faith in the spell checker or in your editors.

I like this series, the innocent Mukohda and his overpowered familiars are fun. Elrand is obnoxious useless and apparently wants sexual relations with Dora. I find his character to be a drag on the story, maybe it gets lost in translation or is a trope only a Japanese person would understand. I realize the author portrays elves a certain way but the way Elrand just forces himself into the group where Fel dislikes him Sui thinks something is wrong with him and Dora is creeped out by him while adding nothing to the story. Mukohda giving out his secrets to this weirdo makes no sense from any standpoint, I can't imagine a more unreliable person. I didn't like him in volume 4 don't like him now and volume 7 has him in it also. If you can't tell I despise Elrand and on my 2nd and 3rd read through I skip parts he is in.

This is an isakai I can sink my teeth into! Sorry! I couldn't resist! I'll stop.Really, an adventure and recipes all in one light novel series is the best. I can't wait for the next volume!

Purchased 12 volumes not too long ago and binged the series for what is currently available. I will say this has an enjoyable concept, but as I read I felt the main character had no growth as a person should in personality. Throughout the series he continues to be walked over by his companions, the gods, and even random people. This also causes the story to be quite repetitive. It seems to follow the pattern of companions demand food, gods demand food, companions demand dungeon runs, and then monsters demand to be familiars. The main character just allows everyone to dictate what he does moving forward, causing the direction of the story to not really be seen. Once again, I read 12 volumes and kept hoping the main character would have more development. I hope the author can work on this and if so, I would return back to the series.

They are not boring and I have read all of them sometimes you just want to enjoy reading a happy book

A truly amazing series got hooked and the anime which just made me go out and purchase the whole series. These books are a great read that doesn’t fall into the typical isekai tropes.
