My wife and I like to rotate through different coffee bean varieties that we order from Amazon. We grind our own beans so order whole beans. I look for the oil sheen and fresh smell when opening the bag. The Arabica beans Lavazza roasts are the same superior type used by Starbucks, but the flavor is markedly different. It reminded us of what we enjoyed when visiting Italy. I was not surprised that the surface oil of the bean had been reabsorbed the beans, considering travel time from Europe. The aroma is still wonderful and the flavor lingers on the tongue. One of our favorites.

From the reviews I had expected this coffee to be something special. It is most certainly better than the low priced popular brand name coffee such as Folgers or Maxwell House, but it not as good as the craft coffees I have to pay a lot for in a local store. Rest assured, I have found zero rocks in the bag. This comes in a bag without a zipper or bendable tie, so you will need to improvise something or store the beans in a separate container after opening. In my opinion this is fairly priced for what it is, and if you drink a lot of coffee or there is more than one person drinking it the size of the bag is perfect. As for the taste, all tastes vary... but I personally am not getting any strong notes of anything in particular, no complex flavour profile here. I suppose if you want a better than average everyday coffee that is easy on the stomach and moderately priced this is fine. It is not my favourite, but I would buy this coffee again if that choice were not available.

I use a Niche grinder and a decent coffee machine. When grinding, it's better to go a bit finer. The taste is almost identical to Illy's Guatemala coffee, but Illy's version is considerably more expensive and often out of stock. I enjoy this roast very much and always have a bag on-hand. I always grind my own beans and when the family visits, I will mix this, half-and-half with 'Jamaican Me Crazy' for 'custom' taste!

e again I When I opened the coffee there was a definite inconsistency in the roast of the beans. Some were really dark others were light. Upon smelling the beans they did have a burnt smell. We ground them anyway to see if the inconsistencies in the beans affected the coffee. We have four coffee drinkers in our house. All of them said the coffee tasted burned. We tried it again in a French Press to see if it was the coffee maker. Still the same burned flavor. Very disappointing. How do I return ground beans? I will not buy these again.

Looking at the description I expected a dark roast flavor. When I ground to beans the coffee was a medium brown color. Tried three ways to brew it. All came out rather wimpy tasting. Even used a half more than usual for my Ninja coffee maker. If you like a good bold cup of coffee, this is not for you.
