We remodeled a new home in 2016 and used over 40 of these lights (they are the damp location lights) to replace every ceiling light in our home. Our contractor did the installation and we are extremely happy with the quality of the lights, the color, ease of installation and Torchstars customer service. I recently had to replace 2 lights that had failed after 4 years. Torchstar honored our 5 year warranty, had us return the failed lights and replaced them promptly. We have them in showers and baths as well as all other rooms of the house. They have held up extremely well no dimming of light or failure except for those two. I would highly recommend these lights.

This product exceeded our expectations. It was referred to me by a coworker and we were told that it they made an unbelievable difference, but I didn't expect it to make as big of a difference as it did. It made our house look completely different. We never realized just how dark it was until we put these in. I will suggest that you get the soft yellow color as it is the more natural light. I refer to the bright white as hospital white because it is VERY bright. We have both in our home because my husband loved the bright white but I felt it was too harsh of a light. We compromised and put those in the hallway by the backdoor. We call that our runway lol. The yellow tinted light is in our kitchen and hallway upstairs. As a professional organizer I am often asked for simple ways to transform a room and I will definitely be referring these lights to Clients if they have the "other type" of canned lights. These bright, warm lights are easy to install and affordably priced. They work very reliably and silently with a Lutron Diva CL dimmer. The technical support group was responsive via online chat, and provided the information I needed when I had a question. I have bought a LOT of these in repeat orders, and all of the orders shipped promptly. So why only four stars? There's one thing to know before you buy: because the trim around the fixture is flat (not beveled upward), it does not conceal all workmanship errors in the placement of the ceiling cans. If you have light cans that "stick out" a little from the ceiling, or that aren't firmly mounted, these fixtures will exaggerate the gaps rather than covering them up. This hasn't stopped me from being a repeat buyer of these otherwise great lights.

I originally purchased 11 of these 1 year ago and would give those 11 a 5 star rating for their brightness, color temperature, and excellent over all function. Recently I purchased 4 more because I was so happy with the others, but the new ones are much yellower in color and don't seem as bright.I know they are the same ones since I still had one one of the old boxes and Amazon told me these where the same ones I purchased before, but they are not the same. Either the old ones where incorrect, but what I wanted, or the new ones are incorrect and not as pleasant. The new ordered ones are very yellow and less bright. I know there is two different color temperatures available (2700k and 5000k), but my old ones and new ones are both listed as 2700k. I'm not sure which is right or wrong, but the whiter ones are what I really want.Just beware that many of the 4 and 5 star ratings may be based on the whiter and brighter older lights.

They look great. I would have liked them to snug up to the ceiling better. Maybe I'm too picky. They are very bright.

This light will fit any 4 inch recessed light. It gives more light than expected as it is rated at 85 watt equivalent. It will run much cooler than a regular bulb. This light is fully dimmable with a LED rated dimmer such as the Lutron Diva dimmer. Great light I recommend it to all of my clients who desire to save money on their electric bill and still have great lighting. Great for any room especially the kitchen and the bathrooms where higher levels of illumination are desired. I do always recommend a dimmer as this helps set the mood in a room and offers flexibility for the user.Paul, San Diego, Ca.

I had to cut wires and splice since the original occupants of the recessed cans were halogen bulbs with smaller bases. No problem really. The lights are diffuse, generally warm and not bright. I had planned one attaching dimmers, but there is no need to dim them to lower output. Satisfied all in all. Can't speak to longevity sine they only have a few hours burn-time. Packaging and quality appearance lead me to believe they will work well.

After a year of debating, I finally went ahead and replaced the miscellany of bulbs that I had in my 4" kitchen downlights with 8 of the Torchstar 4 inch dimmable recessed LED lights about 2 months ago. I went with the 2700K color--I had been concerned that these might be too yellow but they worked very well in my kitchen which has a lot of warm brown tones. I'm very happy with the upgrade--these put out substantially more light than the 50-watt bulbs in traditional cans that they replaced and give the closed can design makes for a much cleaner appearance.
